Maytag dishwasher child lock will not unlock

I have a Maytag MDB7160AWQ dishwasher. One day it decided to child lock itself and I am not able to unlock it. I have depressed the lock button for 3 seconds numerous time to no avail. I have also power cycled it several times (for more than an hour) and still nothing.
Any suggestion?
