Maytag washing machine #mav6260aw

I have a 3-4 year old maytag atlantis washer. Sounds like the bearings are out.....terrible squeaking sound during spin cycle....will not completely wring out clothes......still wet,though water drains from tub. Will try to look for oil (transmission) under machine. Is this worth the trouble or should I just look for new machine?
