Mayweather hasnt fought a madatory fight in over two years, Should the WBC step in and force him to fight the winner of Cotto/Margarito in about October. Instead of letting him call his own shots against DLH in September.

  1. Its one thing being a hater but a true hater. People can't stand PBF being the champ. If Cotto or Margarito was the camp, you wouldn't here all this stuff. You can strip his belt but you cant strip his 39,0. Its not like Cotto and Margarito is clearing the division. What did Cotto accomplish, beating Gomez? He should be fighting guy's like Clottey, Paul Williams and Margarito to clear the division. He should be adding top people to his resume. Gomez shouldn't have even happen if they want him to work his way to PBF. I can get a undefeated record fighting nodody guys like Quintana, Torres, Malignaggi and Urkal did. Only top guy's on Cotto remuse, is Judah and Mosley. Margo only has Cintron2 and Clottey wich he almost lost a close decision on. Im going to give you PBF resume. Corrales RIP, Castillo 2, Gatti, Judah, Oscar and Hatton. Mrago are Cotto doesn't have that many  top guy's we know about. Cotto didn't fight those guy's. I didn't see Quintana, Torres, Malignaggi and Urkal barking for a fight with PBF. They would have got there but handed. They wasn't even on his level. It's funny how they are trying to make Cotto a super star. PBF gloves, butt kicking made him a super star, he didn't need people to do that for him.

  2. He should have been stripped of his belt a year ago. The sanctioning bodies are as much a fraud as Mayweather himself.

  3. Sanctioning bodies of boxing are a joke,

its all corrupt and all about money,

If you pay them they will stay off your back

Even if they made mayweather take a MANDATORY fight as you say it wouldnt be cotto or magarito

it would be any of the top 3 fighters rated by the WBC

    1. Andre Berto

    2. Miguel rodriguez

    3. Luis collazo

But none of those guys are ready for mayweather.

    not even close

  4. Now why would Jose Suliaman make Mayweather fight a mandatory when he can make so much money from him by allowing him to fight De La Hoya?  Who pays any attention to the other 99% of the boxers who AREN'T making more money than God?

IF not for Fabrice Tiazzo  (former WBA 175 champ) we wouldn't have to deal with "uncle Jose"  and his dirty politics.  Tiazzo filed a law suit against Suliaman and was very close to winning, thus getting rid of Suliaman.  Suddenly he was offered a smaller amount of money quickly to drop the suit.

Now that Jose survived that one you can be sure we will be stuck with his miserable presence for a long time to come.  Guys like  him live to be 100 because they have no conscious.

  5. I think he will fight DLH in sept. and then in Jan or Feb of 09 he will take on winner of Margarito/Cotto fight because i agree that they will make it madatory.

Cotto should beat Margarito, but MAYWEATHER will whip Cotto. Cotto fights like Hatton, but he's better. But Floyd is the best

  6. Actually, the Ricky Hatton fight counted as a mandatory defense because Hatton was somehow ranked number one by them even though he hadn't fought at welterweight since barely beating Luis Collazo.  The only way that the WBC could force him to fight Cotto or Margarito is if one of them were in the WBC rankings.  Neither of them are because they both hold their own alphabet titles; Cotto has the WBA and Margarito has the IBF.  Right now, the number one ranked contender in the WBC is Andre Berto and he is going to fight an eliminator in June against the second ranked Miguel Rodriguez.  Here are their rankings at welterweight:  http://www.wbcboxing.com/WBCboxing/Porta...    This all shows you that the alphabet soup titles only care about money, so of course the WBC is going to allow Floyd to fight a rematch with Oscar because if it is at welterweight (and it most likely will be), then they will get a HUGE sanctioning fee from both fighters.  I don't really care about the sanctioning bodies anyway; the only belt that I recognize and respect as a true world title is the Ring Magazine belt, and Mayweather also holds that title, so as far as I'm concerned, he is going to be the true champ at 147 until he loses or retires.  He won the linear and true title from Carlos Baldomir and I will respect that because championship linearity is one of the most important things in boxing today when the santioning bodies strip their fighters of their belts for nothing.  The winner of Cotto-Margarito will obviously be his biggest threat and number one contender, but Floyd will still be champ, so hopefullly Mayweather will face the winner of Cotto-Margarito to settle who is the BEST welterweight, as long as he beats De La Hoya again (and I think he will).

  7. Mayweather would just jump to another weight class rather than fight the guys who can beat him.
