Mayweather Sr. reckons Manny Pacquiao not agile enough to beat his son Mayweather Jr. – Boxing news
The 58-year-old Floyd Mayweather senior, who is the father and trainer of the five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council Emeritus World Super Welterweight Champion, Floyd Mayweather junior, reckons the Fighting Pride of Philippines,
Manny Pacquiao, is not fast enough to beat his son if the two ever meet in the ring.
The Joy, Mayweather senior, who is best known for providing his son with a flawless defensive technique, even claimed Pacquiao, who is an eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation’s Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion),
is not a hard hitter.
Mayweather Sr. said, “He's still not at the status where he can beat little Floyd because he doesn't have the agility. It's not a guy like Pacquiao who can beat Floyd, he just comes in throwing punches like a woman. I would have him jabbing a lot more, and
I would have him moving his head.”
The 34-year-old undefeated American legend, Floyd ‘Pretty Boy’ Mayweather holds a record of winning all of his 41 professional fights, with 25 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout. In comparison, Pacquiao has won 53 of his 58 professional fights (2
Draws) in which 38 of his wins came by the way of a knockout. However, Pacquiao is rated as the number one pound-for-pound boxer in the world but there are many who think Mayweather junior deserves the number one spot.
Therefore, people desperately want to see both boxing’s best taking on each other, as a match between Pacquiao and Mayweather junior will nominate the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet.
According to a recent report, Pacquiao, also known as Pac-Man, has agreed to Mayweather junior’s Olympic-style drug testing demand which means hopefully this super fight can take place somewhere in 2012.
Let’s hope nothing goes wrong this time as this bout is certainly one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport.
