Mayweather grins off new charges
Floyd Mayweather’s boxing schedule is empty, but his trial schedule is jam-packed.
The Las Vegas-based fighter recently charged for grand larceny has engendered other felony and misdemeanour charges, multiple sources report.
The Clark County district attorney’s office placed eight charges on Mayweather related to a domestic violence incident that occurred between him and on-and-off girlfriend Josie Harris.  A court hearing date for the case has been set for 9 November, or four
days before the Manny Pacquiao-Antonio Margarito fight in boxing time.
Mayweather was immediately freed on bail after being arrested last Friday.
His high-profile lawyer, Richard Wright, said of the news: "If (the charges) are based upon the same incidents in the (police) report, it seems like it's kind of a bombastic characterization.  We’ll answer it in court.”
Mayweather reportedly broke into Harris’s house on two occasions on the night in question, the first to steal her iPhone in order to check her text messages.  Apparently distraught with his findings, Mayweather returned a second time and allegedly assaulted
Harris after asking her is she was seeing Chicago Bulls’ guard CJ Watson.
Koraun Mayweather, 10, saw the events and verified them to authorities.
Mayweather and Harris have three children, of which Koraun is the oldest.
Under the coercion heading is included perhaps the most shocking allegation, that Mayweather threatened to “beat the a*s” of his own two sons Koraun and Zion if Harris did not comply with him.
Mayweather’s uncle, Roger Mayweather, faces his own court date on 25 October for alleged assault on a Las Vegas-based female boxer.
The news of additional charges for Mayweather come at a time when public condemnation for the fighter appears to be at unprecedented heights.  Mayweather was criticized for releasing a video recently in which he racially belittled Manny Pacquiao, and then
was further criticized for a second video in which he said he was just “having fun.”
