  1. i do not wanna answer the ques but i wannacomment galactus answerTHANK U BROTHER FOR THIS ANSWER FINALLY IN BOXING AREA A BLACK FAN WHO IS FOCUSED IN BOXING AND NOT RACE THANK U FOR THAT:)

  2. Mayweather is scared to fight Margarito, he ducked Mosley, Cotto, and Margarito. Many people think that since he won many easy fights, that he is the best which is not true. Mayweather focuses to much on being defensive, and a fighter like Margarito would force Mayweather to fight like a man for once in his life. Mayweather with his featherweight punches and Margarito with his stone chin and heavy duty punches would KO Mayweather in the 10 round.

  3. he will come back , when he notices he has no more money in the bank, he will turn to face margarito and mayweather would make margarito look like a fool, mayweather UD

  4. Yes.

But Mayweather will not stay retired.

If the price is right; if Margarito ever becomes a huge PPV attraction, and stays a welterweight, Floyd might eventually fight him.

But as of now, he's ducking Margarito for sure.  Although I can't see Floyd winning against Margarito or Williams, thoughts of Sugar Ray Leonard defeating Hagler and Hearns comes to mind.

Mayweather defeating Margarito or Williams is improbable, but NOT impossible.

    - EDIT -

    To Jessica:

Yes, I understand Mayweather turned down $8 million back then, but he wants more than $20 M now against Oscar.  I doubt they would even offer him $20 M against Margarito right now.  So of course he would not fight him.  Double that figure, and I bet you he will do it for the money.

Everyone should think of Mayweather ducking Margarito as a smart thing.  Imagine losing to Margarito back then... he would never have been making those big money fights after a Margarito lost.

  5. Hi Hater!

    The answer is no

  6. This is absolute bull. A week everyone was saying that he was ducking Cotto but now Cotto got beat no one wants to know. At the end of the day Cotto lost but it doesn't mean he is not a brilliant fighter anymore  The same happened with Hatton once he lost everyone said he is finished. Most of the greats lost sometime in there career and Cotto will be back to prove why he is a tough Puerto Rican and there is know way that Mayweather is ducking Margarito. There is no way of building up this type of fight.

  7. Margarito is tough as nails.  Mayweather would rather stick it in the mouth of a rattlesnake than face Cotto.  Now that Margarito beat Cotto I'm SURE Floyd wants NOTHING to do with him.

Mayweather really has not done much to remember in his career.  He beat Oscar but it was a boring fight and Oscar hasn't been focused on boxing in years.  Beat a YOUNG HUNGRY THREAT and he can call himself "great".  Until then,  Floyd should just sit down and shut up.   He ducked the best 2 fighters in his division.  How the h**l can he call himself great?

That's like Sugar Ray Leonard finishing a career and never fighting Hagler or Hearns or Duran.

  8. Yes, Floyd is definitely afraid of slow punches.

Speed kills, and fast guys have trouble hitting Money May.  Margarito would be swatting at the air like a blindfolded kid trying to hit a superfast pinata.

  9. MAC11:mayweather was offered 8 million to fight margo & floyd turned it down..that was the biggest purse for mayweather at that time & floyd paid bob arum $750,000 to get out of top rank because arum was trying to make the margo mayweather fight happen...floyd chose to fight the over the hill journeyman baldomir...mayweather would fight the weakest link on the chain that had a belt & whats funny is he didnt even earn his title shots against baldomir or de la hoya...back in da day boxers would have to work there way up the ladder to get a title shot..mayweather was protected & avoided the guys at the top of the division...also mayweather never unified the titles in any division but you idiots consider this fraud as the best! margarito called out mayweather in face & called him a coward & mayweather didnt do nothing but stutter...floyd only took fights against opponents he knew he could beat and so you know castillo beat mayweather in there first fight but he got a gift...this video is funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOSYzIKJF...

  10. Yes. Mayweather thinks Margarito is not  a strong competitor and that it will not be a money attraction fight.  He is underestimating Margarito's skills. With Margarito's fight against Cotto, he demonstrated he is a strong. resistant, solid boxer. Cotto's punches seemed to not hurt him at all.  Even when Mayweather is fast, he does not have the strong enough punch to knock Margarito down, Margarito resists punches and "combos", just the way he did with Cotto. Margarito is not  the type of boxer to surrend, he's gonna fight till the end and that's what people like to see, that's money attraction, that's what's gonna make the great boxers agree to fight with him.

  11. First let me say I am not a fan of Mayweather, but he is a great fighter that is smart.  He was very selective, "smart", about the fights he took.  I think he will come out of retirement because of his ego, but I don't think Margarito would be his first choice.  I agree with one of the other answers that Mayweather could win the fight with his excellent defense and running style.  I would not be suprised if the fight turned out to be boring.  Either way, I don't believe Mayweather would take the fight.  Margarito is a bad match up for everybody but Williams.

  12. I am not paying to see Floyd put a boring fight against margartio. because i know exactly what Floyd is going to do. and is not coming to fight.

is a good boxer but not an fan pleaser. and fans pay to see a good fight. not to see how good of a defense Floyd has.

  13. man you guyz need to find a new hobby, everybodys tryin to get into mayweathers spot, hez not tryin to get into theirs. When you are on top of the world you are not going to fight everybody that wants your spot. If you make it that far up you pick your own fights. People say he fights like a "beach" but if you weigh 135 and fighting people who weigh 160 when they are not in camp then obviously you are trying not to get hit.

I hate watchin fighters who just go shot for shot, it shows no skills, it brings people back to the barbaric ages when the cavemen used to slug each other. A true boxing fan appreciates defense just as much as offense. Margo would hit him hard if he caught him but trying to catch mayweather is like trying to hold water in your palm.

Name another fighter that has won all titles from 130 to 154 without losing or even coming close to losing. Call it what you want man I call it winning

  14. To be honest, I wouldn't want to waste my money on any Gayweather fight. I think Mayweather would win by points though. Only because he would run like a bithc from Margarito. But if Margarito were to catch him, he would knock his *** out!

Margarito is now the man to beat but trust me, Mayweather will not come out of retirement and Oscar would rather retire than have to fight Margarito. Dont get me wrong I'm a die hard De La Hoya fan but theres no reason for Oscar to take that kind of risk, the only good thing would be that Margarito would get paid.
