  1. I think mayweather would have given duran more problems than most think..his tremendous hand speed and reach advantage would frustrate duran but eventually duran would catch him up with his relentless style and take the fight where mayweather would not be comfortable.

Duran was a lot quicker than most remember especially inside where he would trade unmatched by anyone.

So I think the first 4 or 5 rounds would go mayweathers way but under pressure to keep duran at bay even though he has landed a few bombs.rounds 6,7,8,9,are messy but tiring for PFB as duran applies more pressure and no respite for floyd.round 10 sees duran finally opening up as mayweather tires and floyde is hurt.Round 11 PFB is floored and although he gets up duran is too strond and looks as fresh as in round 1 the referee tries to step in to stop the fight as he sees floyd is beaten but one of the all time finishers KOs him first

  2. Duran would have cut off the ring and landed counter punch right hands time and time again and force Mayweather to get on that bicycle.  Mayweather would land some fast combos but the snarling Duran would laugh at him much like he did against the great Sugar Ray Leonard during their first fight.  Duran is the tougher man here and would hit Mayweather more and harder than anytime in his career.  I believe that Duran would have caught up to and stopped the Pretty Boy in 10 rounds with a lethal right hand to the chin.

  3. I give Duran more of an advantage the lower the weight the fight took place at; but I think he would win anywhere from 154 down.

Floyd is great, no question, but Duran's hands were fast, and he had awesome power, maybe the greatest pure fighter in history.  Duran would jump all over him, Floyd is economical with punches, and I think Duran would have him almost completely defensive by the mid to late rounds - either stop him or take a decision.

  4. Wow, spectacular match up, and I for one have a great deal of respect for Floyd, he is one of today's very best.  That said, Floyd will never be held in the same esteem as Leonard, Hearns, Hagler or Duran, any one of them was better than Floyd.  Duran won titles from 135 to 168, and did so against some of the greats.  Roberto beat Ray in Leonard's prime, at 147 and Ray won titles all the way up to 175bs.  Floyd looked tentative and cautious against an old DeLa Hoya at 147 lbs.

Duran was a much better boxer than people realize, and most likely the best brawler the light weight division ever saw.  Floyd wouldn't have been able to "box" his way to a decision, Floyd would have had to fight, and I just don't see anyone out "fighting" Duran below 140.  Floyd would be in over his head, and Duran would take this one, by not abandoning his jab (as DeLa Hoya did) and out boxing Floyd.

Roberto Duran by decision, unless Floyd got frustrated and tried to slug with Roberto, then Duran would KO Floyd.  Either way Floyd would know true greatness if he fought Duran.  Floyd, for all his success, never fought the level of competition Duran did, and certainly didn't carry his power up past 147lbs with the authority Duran did, Roberto wins this one either way.

  5. duran applies pressure from the start, catching mayweather through his guard with combo's.

this is a good give n take bout---similar to the first duran-leonard bout-----but duran has an edge in most rounds and takes a decision in the fight of the year.

  6. Mayweather, in a runaway decision victory. Mayweathers hand speed would dominate Duran, who has a problem with slick boxers, Now I know Duran is a huge power threat, but so was Oscar, Baldomir, and Hatton(apparently). Floyd would fustrate Duran with Technique and speed, leading to a lopsided victory.

  7. Duran would be the better counter puncher, and would be able to deal with anything Floyd threw his way.  Not only technically sound, but a great chin, Duran wins by TKO via cuts, 10 rounds.  They didn't call him "Hands of Stone" for nothin!

  8. LOL at people picking Duran, Floyd would tax that *** no problem. Floyd has the advantage in speed, accuracy, defence, control and class...he would absolutely wipe the floor with Duran.

  9. Ive watched duran a couple of times on some greatest fights on espn. the fighter that everybody speaks of didnt look that good to me. It seem like no ones gives a boxer credit that they deserve. I honestly think mayweather is better than the lenords and hearns because look certain boxers gave them problems. I personally think duran wasnt in the same league to be mentioned with mayweather but like I said in order to trash the current best fighter now they have to compare him to the old guys. the old guys get more credit today than when they were in their prime. mayweather in my oppinion is better than all of these guys in the early late 80's

  10. Mayweather I suppose because of his speed that was always  Duran's weakness

  11. mayweather

  12. at 135 I give it to Duran.  Before everyone starts hating on this answer, Mayweather was almost beaten by Jose-Luis Castillo at 135 and I could see Duran fighting a similiar fight as Castillo did, but just with more skill and tenacity.
