I am using Sky Auction and those are my only choices. Does either have a spa? Which has nicer rooms. Need to know right away. Which is convenient to shopping area. Which has better restaurants---either on or off premises.

  1. Costa de Oro has a spa on premises, Luna Palace does not.

  2. Definitely the Costa de Oro is the best of the two.  Luna Palace is just a very ordinary hotel (nice beach though) that caters to the all inclusive charter flight crowd that's looking for a bargain.  It's also closer to LOTS of shopping and to more restaurants than the Luna Palace.  Just as good if not better beach, too.

I don't believe either has an in-house spa, but there are good massage therapists throughout the hotel zone (Golden Zone) of Mazatlán.

Forget the in-house restaurants in the hotels in Mazatlán.  Very, very ordinary and usually overpriced.  There are multitudes of much better restaurants at much better prices outside the hotels.  Go to TripAdvisor.com and check out the restaurant lists posted on their Mazatlán forum.  That will open your eyes as to why all Mazatlán residents (I'm one) and Mazatlán regulars ALWAYS recommend NOT buying into an all-inclusive package.

  3. There is nothing wrong with the Luna Palace, but the Costa De Oro is better in all the category's you mentioned.
