Mazda RX-8 Problems (radiated heat from the CAT into the cabin)?

Has anyone else that owns or has owned an rx-8 had trouble with massive amounts of heat coming into the cabin from the frontal part of the centre console (around the handbrake/gear stick) i think its the heat being generated from the CAT so is there any way to stop the heat coming into the cab. I know it is possible to 'de-cat' the car but i understand this will cause the engine managment light to come on. Catch 22 really, does anyone have a suggestion or an answer for me please?

most likely its about plugged up so replace it.. thats what causes more heat than normal the flow is backing up

thats normal because of the transmition, but too much can ge a broken shift boot, that thing holds the heat coming from under the car

but the best thing you can do is go to the dealer

Its the heater core this needs replaced. if you let it go long enough it will start leaking antifreeze into the interior

It's normal to have heat coming from the center console of an RX8 as that is right over top of the transmission.

But if you are having excessive heating you should have a dealer check it out.

First thoughts would  be to goto a rx forum and see if other owners have had trouble there.

if your transmission is getting hot it maybe worth checking fluid levels.

is your heat shield still on your cat.

Is your car running fine IE mpg performance etc heat is sometimes caused when the cat is faulty.

any oil or antifreeze entering the exhaust system can cause heat problems.

It maybe worth adding a decat or a high flow cat iam sure that,they is a way to stop the engine management light issue,a remap may help.
