Question:

Mazda miata leak on drivers side floor

I have a 92 miata and after a really hard rain there is about an inch of water on the floorboard of the drivers side only. I clean it out and drive it a little and more water appears. I can sometimes hear the water moving back and forth when I stop and go. I think that maybe my rain rail is busted. Is this true or is it something else?

  1. It could be the rain rail. If it is the carpet would be wet behing the left hand seat or at least down the side.

The drains could be plugged too on that side.

There should be no penetrations to the area where the wipers rest. If there are one of them may be leaking.

The drain tube behind the drivers seat could also be disconnected or miss routed.

  2. hi, i would get a flashlight and remove the mat. get someone to lay down across the front seat with their head toward drivers side and take a water hose and spray the winshield and window real good until you see it start to leak. it could be the front winshield seal or the seal around the window or door. good luck
