  1. In general, all rodent food is pretty much the same. You will see some ingredients in one that are better for that specific rodent than another, but they're somewhat the same.

I've looked through the ingredients in this Mazuri Hamster Blocks business, and it looks pretty safe for a rat. As I always say, you can test it out, but if you see irregularities in the behavior of your rat, you need to stop feeding these to him.

All in all, I think they should be completely safe.

    Good luck,

  2. yes mazuri is an excellent brand of food for hamsters.  i personally feed it to my mine and they are in excellent health.  its well balanced so you really dont have to supplement anything.

  3. Well some people think since they are both rodents it is ok, but its not! Hamsters need certain vitamens and things and some things they eat rats cant have because they need different ingredients and more! Just in case try this, http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... it is by Mazuri and is for rats! For this the ingredients are, dehulled soybean meal, ground corn, ground wheat, wheat middlings, soybean oil, cane molasses, fish meal, ground oats, porcine meat meal, dehydrated alfalfa meal, dried beet pulp, wheat germ, brewers dried yeast, calcium carbonate, salt, dried whey, dicalcium phosphate, monocalcium phosphate, calcium propionate (a preservative), ground soybean hulls, menadione dimethylpyrimidinol bisulfite (vitamin K), animal fat preserved with BHA, choline chloride, corn gluten meal, dried yucca shidigera extract, DL-methionine, cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), vitamin A acetate, pyridoxine hydrochloride, d-alpha tocopheryl acetate (natural source vitamin E), thiamin mononitrate, folic acid, nicotinic acid, calcium pantothenate, riboflavin, cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12), manganous oxide, zinc oxide, ferrous carbonate, copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, calcium iodate, cobalt carbonate.
