Mazzarri ready to face any team in the next round and hoping for revival in league form
Napoli manager, Walter Mazzarri, is ready to face any team in the last 16 round of the UEFA Champions League.
The Partenopei side has qualified for the first knockout round of this year’s competition after finishing second in their group. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 made a return to the Champions League for the first time since the 1989/90 season and Mazzarri
is extremely pleased with his team’s efforts.
The tactician insisted that he is not worried with the prospect of facing any particular team and has full faith in his players. The 50-year-old believes that his team was placed in the toughest of the groups during the group stages
and they will give their next round opponents a tough time. Napoli’s form against the top teams this season has been outstanding and the manager ready to face any team.
The former Sampdoria boss highlighted the improvement his side has made since the last year and believes that it has made them a top team. Mazzarri added that his team picked up 7 points in the UEFA Europa League last season and
showed a vast improvement to pick up 11 points in the Champions League against top teams this season.
“There are still two months until the second round of the Champions League. Let’s see what’s in store for the draw, we will aim to give any opponent a hard time. However, it was most important that we honoured the competition and
progressed.”
The experienced tactician is confident that the team will improve on their league form as they are nine points behind league leaders, Juventus. Mazzarri added that they will shift their focus back to the league as there will be
a two month break in the next round.
“I hope for a revival in the League but the many commitments have led us to waste energy and drop points. At times it can be everything, both positive and negative. We have seen how very difficult opponents otherwise regarded as
the weakest can be.”
The Partenopei outfit might face the possibility of meeting Real Madrid, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the next round of the competition.
