Mbuna cichlid fish tank setup?

I have a 30 gallon tank and i was wondering how to set it up for mbuna cichlids. How many can i have. I have heard i can have 1 male and 3-4 females. Also i heard i can have some tankmates that are not cichlids is this true. At the fish store they say i can put a green spotted puffer in with the cichlids. how do i need to setup the tank and how many fish can i have

You need to assemble the filter and water heater according to the manufacturer's instructions.  Also install any air bubblers into the tank.  Add the water and the water conditioner.  Allow it time to sit.  (The contitioner bottle has the recommended time.  Once the water is conditioned and at the right temprature, (26 - 27 degrees) put the fish in, in the plastic bags, to allow them time to adjust to the water temprature in your aquarium.  Note on Chiclids: they do not like plants, and like rocky landscapes with plenty of places to hide.

    You can have up to 5 or 6, if they're relatively small, fish in a 30 gallon tank.  Generally, you should keep chiclids with other chiclids, but puffers should be all right with them.
