Did anyone notice that they were playing "Barracuda" after McCain's speech? Isn't that a rather odd choice? First, a barracuda is not exactly a pleasant image, and here are some lyrics from that song: "If the real thing don't do the trick, you better make up something quick." Does this seem appropriate, or had Old John never heard the song before and thought the "young folks" would like it?
Prior to that, I heard the theme song from the movie "Rudy." I guess they played that until they realize that Giuliani isn't the candidate, as everyone thought he would be a year ago. I mean, these were just weird musical selections, it seems to me.
So, we've got the barracuda and the pit bull. I'm guessing they're not going for compassionate conservatism or a kinder, gentler nation this time?
