  1. I agree that McCain would be smart to pick a woman and I think that there is a very good chance that he will do so.  Gov. Sarah Palin might be a bit inexperienced to be the VP of a 72 year-old President but she is a possibility.  He might pick another woman, possibly Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchinson.  I have a feeling that he is not going to pick Mitt Romney or Joe Lieberman.

  2. She could be a good choice.  She has a son in Iraq and so does McCain.  Makes the Obama-Biden ticket look pathetically weak and appeasing and elitist.

  3. I was hoping it would be Pawlenty, a true conservative, but am thrilled equally with the prospect of Palin being picked.  She's an impressive lady who brings with her no insider garbage!

  4. McCain hates women though, and you know he wants to pick his buddy Holy Joe Lieberman

  5. I hope so because Palin is a 44-year-old governor with 2 years in office.  Before that she ran a small town nobody ever heard of!

    Obama/Biden 08

  6. It's too early for Palin. Mitt is he guy. What are the chances McCain will put Ron Paul as Treasure secretary? One can wish, right?

  7. It may be a pitch for those Hillary supporters that can't support Obama.  Outside of that, I consider this on a par with George H.W.Bush picking Dan Quayle.  Only time will tell whether she is like Quayle in negative ways or not.

  8. it actaully would be really smart to put a woman on the ticket since since the b**ch hillary wont be on one.  that would deffinetly take some wind out of Obama sail.  i dont know anything about this palin but it would be nice to see somebody else with a little more experiance.

  9. Strategically, it would not be a bad idea to pick a woman.  I do not think it would appease a lot of Hillary's voters as it would be moderately possible that Hillary would not be the first woman president if something happened to McCain, and there are certainly some of Hillary's supporters who would want her to have the opportunity to be first.

I think it will be Romney or a woman.

OIL...Put the kool aid down and slowly back away.  McCain does not hate women.  What an ignorance based comment.  As for Lieberman, he would probably make a good VP, but not a good running mate.  McCain knows that a Lieberman running mate would cost him the election.

  10. McCain should pick Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. She may be the only pick that brings all he needs to win.

I have been on the fence leaning towards using the write in vote option come November. However, if McCain picks Palin for VP, I will vote the McCain-Palin Ticket.

I watched several interviews with Palin on YouTube. She is an amazing person who gives straight answers and makes solid eye contact. Speaking of eyes, she has the spark of enthusiasm in hers.

Sarah Palin knew at 9 weeks gestation that her 5th child had down syndrome. There was never a question for her or her husband. She carried and gave birth to her beautiful baby boy. That's real Pro-Life in action.

Palin is from common roots. Her parents are teachers, her husband a commercial fisherman, her son a U.S. Army foot soldier, and she is a lifelong member of  the NRA. That appeals to the average, hard working American.

She stood up to the party elite and Sen. Stephens over his earmark for the "bridge to nowhere". She will bring that strength and integrity to the ticket as VP.

There are millions of disaffected Cinton followers, mostly women, who are looking for an option. Palin will draw millions of those voters. And she is really Catholic, as opposed to Biden's pro-choice catholic stand. She will draw Catholics looking for a viable option.

Palin represents the future of Republicans and conservatives. She wears that mantle well.

Sadly, McCain sounds a lot like Claude Raines in Casablanca "Round up the usual suspects".

Hopefully McCain will look beyond the usual suspects and make the smart choice - Sarah Palin.

Any of the "usual suspects" would be a disaster. Carly Fiorina got drummed out of HP as arrogant, a poor leader, and impossible to work with. Kay Baily Hutchinson is a Beltway insider and almost as old as McCain.Meg Whitman has no political experience. Lieberman would sink the Republican party for the next 25 years. Romney will sink the ticket.

  11. He wouldn't pick her, he'd pick the ex-CEO of eBay if he were going to pick a woman. Gov Palin doesn't help him in the economy arena at all because she has a minute state budget compared to most other states. There's nothing for her to budget. He'll HAVE to choose someone with economic experience.

I'm hoping the ex-CEO of eBay or Condi.

Condi would floor the Democrats and win in a landslide.
