Do you agree that McCain's statement: "I'm not sure how many houses we own. I'll have to let my staff get back to you on that." is on par with Marie Antoinette's "Let them eat cake!" statement?

  1. McCain stated that he does not care anything about the economy and that he thinks things are going just fine.

Does that  moron even know that we are in a recession?

  2. hey at least he was honest ;)

  3. He's either a liar or a fool.  Also, the McCain household spent nearly 280,000 on STAFF last year.  Are you kidding?  Most people's homes aren't worth that kind of money...forget about hiring people to clean it.

  4. His wife owns homes for investments and the had a prenup before they were married. He wanted to be accurate and he was not aware of how many they owned, because if he says a number and its not right they would have made it look like he is out of touch. It would have been a loose loose situation. McCain earned his homes and that is what is great about this country, on the other hand you have Obama who lives in a 1.5 million dollar house that was gotten by shady deals with Tony Rezko, and by the way he was indited and serving time.

  5. No,because he knows that his wife regularly buys homes strictly for investment purposes, therefore at any given time he knows there's more property owned by them than he knows about. He chose his words poorly,no doubt, but it wasn't what most Libs are trying to make of it.

But why would I take anyone seriously when they don't question Gore giving us criticism of how much gas we use, while his Private Jet is fueling up for his next flight.Or people that never question Edwards talking about his "Two America's" while his maids clean his Mansion back home. I mean seriously, did you see the Homes of the likely VP picks on CNN? It was like an episode of "Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous",yet everyone else is Demonized for doing well. And I suppose Barack Obama's 1.6 Million dollar Mansion helps him understand the "Common Man" Of course most of us don't have a crooked land developer to help us get great deals on our homes either,or the connections to get the Tax Payers to pay off that same Land Developer as a Thanks.

  6. It was a very stupid answer McCain gave. He should know how many houses. So why did he choose to say he wasn't sure? Is he embarassed? If he genuinely doesn't know - it demonstrates extreme affluence and a lack of appreciation that voters do wish to understand more about a potential president than simply policies. They want to see the human being behind the candidate. They want an insight into his private life that helps them judge his suitability to be President.

His deflection was a mistake that raises suspicions. If he can't be "upfront and honest" over something as simple as how many houses they own, the American people are going to have difficulty getting straight answers from him on anything. Small mistakes like this will stick in people's minds.

  7. It is nothing more than Obama's people spouting populist politics.  Its the politics of race, class, and division.

  8. not in any way.

  9. Embarassed.  Calling Obama elite when his wife is loaded is rather stupid.

  10. maybe he isn't materialistic.

  11. no, it's just not something at the top of his mind at the moment; he has a campaign to worry about now.

    let's stick to real issues

  12. do you really think mccain is good? i think he sucks and hope obama beats him!! if you disagree you should go vote for mccain on this site..

  13. fake! fake! fake! yea sounds like someone to speak for working people who can't afford one mortgage. the rich don't care about us!!!

  14. being career military he may have purchased many homes that are now being rented.

  15. Either elite or completely senile.

  16. I'll say he's an elitist! I don't buy into this "investment" c**p either. He did NOT want to give a number because he would be seen as another 'out of touch with middle america' republican

  17. He and Bush make a good pair.  I still say republicans are money grubbers and to heck with the everyday working person.  Just look what has happened to this country in the last 8 years.  no industry left,   trillions of dollars in debt and we are heading to be a 3rd world country fast and furiuos.  we need some honet politicians, but there is no such thing.
