but isn't the only reason it is working, is, because the fat Muhla, who leads the Mufti army, chooses, for whatever reason, to call of the dogs

  1. Perhaps the surge is the reason the Mufti are crawling back into their holes.

  2. I think what was more important was the Sunni tribal leaders were fed up with the new Caliphate that al-Qaeda in Iraq set up and decided to fight them when the surge allowed more US troops in their tribal areas to protect them (initially).  The "fat Mullah" seems more of an inter-s**+'ite conflict with what amounts to a war lord.  Having said that, his "calling off the dogs" has cooled down the Sunni/s**+'ite conflict which allowed the Sunnis to focus on their other enemy - the foreign invaders of Al-Qaeda.  Like most conflicts, it is not a simple situation and many factors ar inter-related.

  3. What is the surge? Bribery of insurgents???

  4. More troops, killing more bad people, tends to force them to keep their heads down. If we sent enough troops we would win and come home. But like Vietnam, our government is not interested in winning.

  5. The fat guys army is getting its fat mufti butt kicked. It is working.

    spin, spin, spin

  6. There are several reasons for the decreased violence.

the Madhi Army is in a cease fire since before the surge started

    and

the USA is paying Sunnis to not fight us.

But the surge was supposed to quell violence so political reconciliation and progress could be made, but Republicans dont bring that up anymore, they pretend they never promised that was the point of the surge, since no reconciliation has been made-none
