Question:

McCain - do you like his education plan?

I am a McCain supporter - big time. However, I don't like that he doesn't have a plan to make college more affordable.

Also, why is he focusing on "school choice"? It's not like any parent "chooses" to send their kids to "bad" schools; it's that they have to because they can't afford private schools.

Why doesn't he have a plan? I'm with Barack on this (and only this) particular issue - at least he has a plan. I really hope McCain changes his mind on this, because this is making me question my support for him.

Anyone else agree?

  1. Why would McCain want to make college more affordable?  That's a Democratic issue not a republican one.  Also, why would McCain care about education when he was a bad student himself.   It's simply not important to him, McCain was handed educational opportunities that others can only dream of and he threw them away.

I can't believe that would be the only issue you can actually take on with McCain if you are worried about affordable education.

  2. Nope, he doesn't had one.  Because he only care about corporation and the rich, u know most of them send their kids to private school; and don't forgot McCain consider himself middle class not rich, cause he said rich is only for those make 5 million or more per year lol.

  3. im also a McCain supporter~

but u should know that the education plan is a huge and complex issue,no one can change it immediately, inculding Barack.

So I believe McCain can change it foot by foot, not just by sweet words...

  4. no i do not like his school plan! but Obama's plan is great!

  5. Yes. I hate his education plan. It's like nothing. Obama's education plan is great. But Obama plans to take troups out of Iraq which will most likely start a world war III.

  6. u shood switch and vote 4 obama - hez all bout educaation.

  7. h**l ***** no

  8. The idea is to allow vouchers to send a child to a better school, not the cookie cutter schools the Democrats and their friends in the Teacher's union swear by.

  9. because he thinks that educating children is giving handouts and big government entitlements...

except of course for his children...

With McCain expect the same as Bush.

  10. I like Obama's plan. I'm hoping Bill Richardson will have a part in this. Education is a big issue with me. I say this knowing I will vote for Obama. McCain hasn't said much of anything I agree with.

  11. Hmm...I don't pay too much attention to politicians' plans for education because I homeshchool and believe that the public school system is damned no matter what, but I'm interested in reading all the answers you get to see what other people think.  I will say one thing:  The only mistake Bush made was No Child Left Behind.  It's ridiculous to give more money to schools whose scores show that they have no problem teaching kids.  It's the schools with the lowest scores who need extra funding for more teachers.  But you're not asking about Bush, are you?

  12. McCain's educational plan is just more of the same - No Child Left Behind, which is just leaving children behind.  It doesn't work in the long run.

Many of McCain's plans are just more of the same.  The man is stuck in the 60's and he frankly scares me.

His choosing a running mate that he has met briefly before making his choice is just another example of how he will run this country.  Using his gut.  Do you really want a president using his gut to make important decisions, or would you rather have someone make an informed decision.

  13. Ya know what? EVERYONE can go to college.  It's called getting a student loan and repaying it AFTER you graduate and have a real job.  I'm so sick of uber-liberals thinking no one should have to take care of their own bills.  I put myself through college and am currently paying back 55k in student loans on a teacher salary.  That IS a working college plan.

As far as public schools go...once parents get behind teachers and allow them to discipline their kids in school and actually stand behind the teacher, nothing will change.  Ever.  Don't get me wrong.  I surely don't want more of No Child Left Behind, and I'm not a huge McCain fan, but at the same time, Im not so all about Obama, either, because I get tired of people living on government handouts.
