Incredible but true! John McCain's wife, the beer baroness, is worth somewhere around $100 million, yet her husband, the brainwashed ex-POW & presidential contender, still draws $1,930.00 a month from the Social Security system he claims is broken. He continues to get the checks and he doesn't return them?" Is this right for him to be getting each month?

  1. Sorry he is a POW, I think he is allowed claim the cheques, if he does. And if he does and has such means doesn't that mean truly that system is broke.

  2. Why do people have such a hard time understanding simple situations such as this?  I guess envy plays a role in distorting a person's opinion.  Also, since it involves the government, I guess we are simply used to the government s******g things up and penalizing people for doing well.

The social security system, when you work and participate in it by paying your SS taxes, is an agreement for future benefits based on the contributions that you put in.  If you pay money in and meet the eligibility requirements, then you deserve to receive your money back in accordance to the rules in place during your working career.

Therefore, it would be immoral to change the rules simply because your income changed.  Who is going to be the decider that determines how much income or assets are too much before benefits are denied?

Your decision to participate has nothing to do with the amount of money or income that you presently have or will be projected to have at retirement.  The only limitation is that you don't get benefits for any income above the cut-off (presently around $100,000), but guess what? You don't pay any SSI for amounts above that either.

If someone that was well-off elected to not take their SSI, then that is their decision and they can do whatever they want.  The future viability of the SSI system is not dependent on cutting off a couple of thousand people that we identify as "too rich".  Regardless of how broken the system is or is not, McCain being single out as a hypocrite for taking the funds that are rightfully his does not help the system one bit.

  3. i have no idea whether it is true but i do have some thoughts.

i thought anyone who paid into social security has the right to draw from it.

saying the social security is broken is not the same as saying "there should be no social security system."  its actually saying just the opposite.  it is broken and therefore needs to be fixed.   mccain is worried it won't be able to sustain itself for future generations.

  4. he deserves it just like everyone else deserves it if they paid into it..now if you want to look at all the welfare recipients that get it for free them Id say you could bitccch about something.

  5. STOP the TALiberal Hate and Lies

He WORKED and earned every penny of SS, not like the liberal welfare scums

  6. He draws SS because its his money you idiot. He has worked his whole which is more than 99 % of you dems can say. He has paid into the system and he is drawing his money back now that he has reached retirement age.

Wait til you get out of high school before you try and understand things like this.

  7. He paid much more into the system than he will ever get out. He also paid for the system with his blood in Vietnam, who are you to criticize him. You should be glad that such men of courage exist. Go outside somewhere and thank a vet.
