  1. I am totally against Drilling for Oil in the White House!

Take that outside where it belongs!

  2. The majority of us.

  3. theres nothing wrong with a country depending on its own resources than depending on foreign production

  4. Oil drilling is safer than ever. More oil oozes from the ocean floor every year than has spilled from rigs and tankers in the last 20. I for one am sick of sending $700 billion to foreign countries that hate us.

  5. Presumably those who stand to make big profits.  Any large project puts money into a lot of pockets, not just the oil companies.  For example, there's the drilling rig suppliers, the local real estate rental agencies, the local grocery stores and bars and prostitutes . . . lots of people.

  6. I do.

  7. Me...and 65% of Americans!

  8. <--------------  raises hand.

  9. Me.

  10. 80% of America in the last poll.

But dictator Pelosi won't let the Bi-Partisan bill be voted on.

  11. Me.  I'll scream with him.

  12. If you like paying upwards of $4 a gallon for gasoline, by all means vote for Obama.  I don't.

  13. Well... We're already drilling off-shore and both candidates support it.

And actually yes, cars could run on hot air (steam) and sunshine if auto companies quit suppressing the technology.

  14. ME ME ME!!!   WHY wouldn't you want to? Why would you want to pay countries that harbor terrorist for oil?????  DUH!

  15. It has come to my attention that Joe Biden (The Obama VP Candidate) has been in congress for around 35 years. He has consistently voted to stop drilling our own resources in the United States. It seems, he prefers to do business with people who would like to kill us if they could.

With the terrorist attacks and the price of gas, don't you find it funny that both Biden and Obama say they won't drill in the United States. Does this not show the incompetence of Biden and the Inexperience of Obama? If Iran does pursue nuclear weapons... and the US has to face off with them.... can you imagine how high the price of gas would go?

What are other people's thoughts on this subject? Should we tap into our resources and try to drive down the price of gas while we build our alternative energy infrastructure and take some control of supply.

Or should we let the Arab countries keep using this as a bargaining tool?

  16. Me for McCain

  17. Not I.

Same old stuff.  Oil compaies are rich and George McCain wants them richer.  Like they're going to lower their prices.  And the moon is made of green cheese.

  18. me too

  19. So I take it you enjoy being raped by OPEC at the pumps?

  20. not me and my 65%

  21. News for ya dear, we already have drilling rigs off our shores.  They are so offensive, you didn't even know that huh?

Logical politicians and citizens want to expand and explore beyond current restrictions.

"Gottbaum" are you sure about the civil war threat?  Remember who has all the guns, and knows how to use them.

  22. It is about time the we get real about energy.  Drill for oil, build nuclear power plants.

    Drill baby drill

  23. I don't want to be held hostage to foreign countries and kiss their a** to keep the oil flowing.  Blow them off and tell them to go to pound salt !!

DRILL, BABY, DRILL !!!!!!!! AND DRILL NOW AND GET OUR AMERICANS JOBS !!!!!!!

  24. I sure do; you can't get to work and back on sunshine and hot air.

  25. ME

  26. Millions of us sane Americans want it. We should have done it years ago but the liberals won't let us. The liberals have prevented us from building refineries and drilling for our own oil for decades. The liberals are responsible for the high gasoline prices and they want to keep them high or higher. Nancy Pelosi is a ***** and she won't even let these kind of Bills come up for a vote like the good little communist that she is.

And the people that are giving all the thumbs down are either not Americans or they are ignorant FOOLS.

And by the way, the Chinese are drilling not far from Florida with Cuba getting the oil that we should be getting.

  27. Drilling for oil offshore is not a bad thing.  It is going to help us become less dependent on other countries for oil.  McCain might not be the best choice for president, but he is a whole lot better than Obama!

Btw, Coriolanus... Living with Oil Rigs in your backyard isn't so bad.  I have lived for the past 10 years with two of them literally in my backyard.  They make very little noise (much less than traffic!) and have no smells what so ever!

  28. Oh yeah, he was against offshore drilling before he was for it.  I forgot to add that example to my McCain flip flop list.

When will the American people start thinking and stop having the the wool pulled over their eyes?

To begin with, who will own the oil?  The American People or the Oil Companies?  I think it's the later.  Unless we want to nationalize oil companies, which is a non-starter. So much for our very own American oil.

Secondly, will the oil companies charge us less for oil due to the drilling here?  We have no assurances whatsoever they will, and demand will continue increasing worldwide.  Whatever oil we get in 10 or 20 years will be a pittence  of what we need, if it even stays in this country.  It will not certainly not give us any monetary relief today, or in the near future.

Better to concentrate on more efficient cars (they're coming) and appliances, new technologies, and current oil reserves yet undrilled and look to the future, than to pollute the florida and california coasts for little real benefit.

  29. I don't want him in the White House for Many, Many reasons. This is just one of them. For all those people saying we should drill ourselves instead of sending money to foreign countries, you are just trying to put a Band-Aid on the problem.

The real problem is our dependence on oil in the first place. There is only so much you can pull out of the Earth. It is not a never-ending commodity! Ever hear of solar power, wind power, other clean-air technologies? We need to plan on harnessing this kind of power, not keep looking at oil as if it is a solution. Cars can be run on many other things than gasoline.

And by the way, yes you can get to work and back by air and sunshine - it's called riding a bicycle. Try it sometime.
