  1. Try that again.  I guess you don't consider ANYBODY who didn't get killed in the line of duty a hero, including troops who lost limbs but survived, police officers, and the like.

Besides, while a lot of people in Arlington were war heroes, some people who got buried there never stepped foot in combat.  A butter bar who just graduated ROTC and got killed in an auto accident the very next day could be buried there.

  2. Try that one again...What you posted made no sense to me.

  3. why don't you do some research on what was called the hanoi hilton

and see how are men were treated.

to us, any war vet is a hero, but to vets the ones who died along side them are the real heros!

  4. Ok the only heroes are the dead. What about those in walter reed? What about those serving?

  5. You want heros try looking at the list of Medal of Honor winners. Not all of them are dead and buried.

  6. He is a war hero. The people at Arlington aren't just war heroes... They are American heroes. My great granddad is buried there.

All gave some, some gave all.

  7. First. Not all persons buried at Arlington are veterans.

Second.  The term "Hero" has been degraded over the years, unfortunately.  This has been done primarily by our politicians who want to put their arm around the returning GI, get his picture taken, and then pander for the public's vote by proclaiming the young soldier a "Genuine War Hero."  That vote scrounger is doing all this while he probably doesn't

    even know the kids name.

Sorry: Didn't mean to offend.  My comments had nothing to do with Sen. McCain and his brave service to  his country.

  8. In the minds of MANY Vietnam Veterans and Patriotic Americans he is a Hero, he served Honorably while in captivity. He endured more in those months / years than any civilian will ever have to in their entire life's. The military has many more like him and thankfully they have never had to prove so.

  9. John McCain was shot down while conducting a mission over North Vietnam. He was badly injured and captured as a prisoner of war by the North Vietnamese. He refused early release offered by the enemy since his father was an Admiral and subsequently was held from 1967 to 1973, experiencing torture and starvation.

That is the epitome of courage and sacrifice. How many of these liberals would have made the same decision under the same circumstances...let alone served their country.

    Return with honor! -SERE motto

  10. ANY who served and didn't run to Canada or such is a hero.  The ones in Arlington paid with their lives for the wimps who think we live in a perfect world and refuse to fight for their country, here or abroad.
