According to the Center Against Government Waste, a non-partisan anti-pork group, the 12 appropriations bills for FY 2008 have featured 11,610 projects wasting a total of $17.2 billion. How is cutting a mere $17.2 billion in pork going to balance the budget when the deficits are far greater than $17.2 billion?

You have to start somewhere.  As my mother used to say, part of something is better than all of nothing.

You won't erase the deficit in one budget year.

I wonder what the pork was now.  Maybe it is the crappy roads, or the wonderful education that is provided by public schools.
