  1. Don't listen to the one saying Phalin has done more than Obama . No way! McCain doesn't stand a chance!

  2. McCain was actually slightly behind Obama.  He needed to shake things up.  A traditional choice like Ridge, Romney or Pawlenty would not have done much for him in the polls.  The Choice of Palin is risky, but if she does well in the debates and interviews, she is a perfect fit for McCain.  She energizes the right wing religious conservatives, some women, NRA folks, blue collar workers  and reform minded people.  It was really a brilliant choice -- if it works.  Also, it makes Obama's choice of Biden, a Washington insider and old time politician, seem really really bad for someone who claims he is all about change.

After watching this, you'll understand a lot more.

  4. You know that Mccain just did this to try and "one up" Obama? I honestly and sincerely do not believe he picked Sarah Palin because he thought she was the best person for the job. I believe he did it because he wanted to get the women votes. But I don't think many of Hillary's supporters will be swayed by her, because most of them didn't like Hillary for the fact she's a women, but because of the change she wanted to inspire in our country. I don't think it was smart of him to make such an irrational decision, because if anything happens to him, do you really believe she has the ability to lead this country? She may be a Governor of a state, but lets stop and think here: it's ALASKA?

I never had respect for him as a candidate because of all the smear ads he put out against Obama, and never once said anything he was planning to do to change the country, but just putting Obama down. But now, I don't even have respect for him as a person. It seems like this is all a big competition to him, (which I know it is) but that's all it seems like. It's like he doesn't care about running the country, so much as he does just winning. I think we've had enough of a Republican style of governing, looks where it's gotten us. I think we need a BIG change.

  5. You are right, it didn't make much sense at all. The fact is that she was the mayor of a small city with the population of only 9,000 and the governor of a state with a scatterd population total of only 975,000. To take on the " good ole boys" of Alaska is not a major feat considering the amount of people in percentage wise that participate in elections in this country. All that is needed is for her family and friends to show up and she will win. That said, fact is she is not a popular governor either. Some of her comments on global warming and the Iraq war also do not stand to well with me, ( these are remarks I personally heard her state, not media hipe or any other source) I would much rather McCain picked a more suitable candidate for his V.P..

  6. US here and the politics here are a mystery to me also...so good luck! Don't trust politicians in general.

Ron Paul would've been a better choice for president in my opinion.

  7. Dear friend from the UK,

    I know, it's a little unbelievable, right?

McCain made a calculated decision that Palin's blind conservatism would win him the election.  That suddenly became the SOLE criterion for his VP pick.  By picking Palin, he is obviously marginalizigin such political virtues as 1) experience, 2) qualifications, and 3) critical thinking.

I, as a Democrat, want my political leaders to be BETTER than me.  I don't feel that Palin is.  It seems that a majority of Republicans want their leaders to be LIKE them.  Democrats want to be impressed with their elected officials; Republicans want to be able to identify with them.

To answer your question, that is, unfortunately, how politics work over here.  I know, it doesn't make sense.  It's embarrassing, but please know that there are still thinking, critically-minded people here!

  8. I believe he chose Palin as an act of desperation.  In an effort to save his last chance, he's chosen a woman.  It's been suggested that he's trying to sway female voters just by having a woman vice-president.  He may also be trying to find someone to support that in which he's weak.  Politics, however, never really make much sense, especially in America.  I appreciate your interest in the US though. =]

  9. It's really quite simple.  McCain's running mate, Sarah Palin, is the #1 Governor in our NATION!!  She has accomplished more in her short time as Governor than Obama has in his entire political career as well as Biden has in his 30+ years as Senator.

She is also very strong on certain points that McCain is weak on such as, pro-life, taking on big oil (which she has already done and won in her home State), conservative issues, etc.

She was the best choice he could have made and our country will benefit greatly from the McCain/Palin administration!

The link from the traitor below is pure political propoganda. The person is a representative of the democratic party that is continually trying to bring down the United States of America by exploitation and false accusations.  They spend their time finding ways to downplay the patriotic Americans in this country and make our country look foolish to the rest of the world.  Laugh if you want to when they pass along their little attempts at humor, but pray they never invade your country.  They are like roaches, sucking the life blood out of everything in sight.

  10. McCain is wacked out as h**l. He is burnt toast, and does not need to be president. As for his VP pick, no one in the entire U.S. except for Alaska, knows who she is. She's a moose burger-eating, gun-handling, journalism major, women's rights-opposing, evangelistic dipstick! And she doesn't even know what a VP is supposed to do! How the h**l can the republicans say she has experience? WTF?! At least Obama picked someone who does.....

    OBAMA/BIDEN '08!!!

  11. It seems like both candidates have chosen running mates to provide something that they themselves are not. McCain chose his running mate to bring a true conservative to the ticket. Obama chose Biden to bring experience to the ticket.
