  1. I'm sick to death of hearing about it

  2. neglect and more

  3. Neglect... not.

Terrible decision in leaving their babies unattended...yes.

Madeleine, Sean & Amelie were not neglected children. They were loved, well cared for & responsibly tended.  The terrible decision to leave them unattended, i believe, was brought about by a false sense of security that a vacation sometimes lulls one into.

  4. Not, that is what the Portuguese authorities think as well.

  5. neglect - at the end of the day none of this would happened if they had either got a baby sitter or taken the kids with them!

  6. if it had been a single mother in this country who had left her kids alone to go up the pub she would have been branded the mother from h**l and destroyed by the press and the public (rightly so) so what bloody difference does it make that they were doctors? So was Harold Shipman and Krippin

  7. Not them again, who cares??

  8. I cant figure out why people would think the parents neglected their child.

I watch my neighbours sitting in their back gardens smoking and drinking with friends while their children are out playing in the streets. Are they neglecting their children. They cant see them so somebody could come along and grab them into a car and be off.

Even if parents are sitting in their own living room and the children are out playing who knows what can happen.

You cant watch children all the time unless they are tied to you by leash so I think folk should stop and think before passing judgement.

  9. It was repeated, wilful, deliberate neglect.

No, the kids weren't starved, or dirty, or beaten up.  But leaving 3 babies alone night after night is STILL a form of neglect, neglect for their safety and well-being, and neglect for their emotional welfare - we already know Madeleine had woken up several nights crying for her parents and Sean had woken the previous night.  We also know from Kate herself that Madeleine had asked why she didn't come when she was crying for her.

So, knowing that their children needed them, knowing that they were wakening up crying for them, knowing that they were scared in the middle of the night - they still went out and left them.

If that is NOT neglect then I don't know what is.

  10. Neglect is prevalent on the sink estates where children are generally conceived to increase benefits or to obtain a council house e.g. Shannon Matthews. Neglect is where children roam the streets at all hours or who are tortured to death e.g. Victoria Climbie. Neglect is when children live in their bedrooms and when their parents have no idea of their whereabouts or that they carry knives or take drugs. The McCanns took an assessed risk and not only have they lost their daughter but have been hounded by lifes losers trying to invent rumours to brighten their own boring , miserable and mundane existences. I also believe these people have haunted and crucified the McCanns because they are too idle to go badger baiting or hare coursing which may satisfy their blood lust

If the evidence of neglect is so overwhelming why have they not been charged ?

Paul C.... mind your halo does not slip and choke you , a terrible way to go.

  11. neglect

  12. neglect 3 and 2 is not a safe age to leave children alone no matter for how long.

  13. Not

  14. I would say it is!!! No offence no sane mother/woman would leave any children unattended in a DIFFERENT building in a different room yes but different building NO. Even with a baby monitor h**l no. yes she maybe goin through h**l right now for this past year i dont care who she is I HOPE THE GUILT STAYS WITH HER FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE  I am a mother of 4 and there is no way in h**l i would leave my children like that why couldnt she hire a babysitter she and her husband should of put her children first not their bloody entertainment

Forgot to voice this if they wasnt doctors and normal working class they would have social services on their doorsteps breathing down their necks I am a single mum to 4 children when i put my washing outside in the garden i take the baby monitor and lock all the doors so i no my baby and children are safe. If i am in the garden for more then 3 mins i take the baby with me. There is no excuse. I am getting pretty fed up with this in the media and why is this one child so more important then the hundreds of other missing children???

  15. total neglect, they left the twins alone while raising the alarm they should have them taken away

  16. Absolutely not. Let thee without sin cast the first stone.

  17. bty81216...

    Even at 2 years old?????????

    I very much doubt that

Take your blinkers off and see the real world

    catblack...

An assessed risk you call it

    How pathetic

To leave tiny children alone whilst you go for a meal and a bottle of wine, to me is NOT a risk

    Its downright neglect and abandonment

  18. No.

  19. Yes neglect who leaves there kids unattended.

  20. Neglect...and more

  21. I am with Little Weed on this one

  22. Complete NEGLECT.  I have a daughter and I would never do something like that because she is too precious to me. I don't even leave her unattended in the living room when the windows (they are huge and I live on the ground floor) are open. not for a minute. and you know children are curious anything can happen  like in this case. I hope nothing happen

    to the other 2 kids.

  23. Of course its neglect, young children should never be left alone so that the parents can go out, I can't understand how any sane person could think it safe to do so.

Edit - can the people who say that it isn't neglect please explain why they think it is acceptable to go out for a meal/several bottles of wine and leave three little children under the age of 4 in an unlocked apartment?  Because I can't for the life of me see why anyone would agree with that.

All I can say is this, I really hope the people who see no wrong in leaving babies alone, aren't parents themselves or indeed contemplating becoming parents.

  24. Absolute neglect.

  25. Anyone who leaves a child under 16 unsupervised for more than 3 minutes is guilty of neglecting them. the fact that they left 3 children is triple neglect.

The appartments had a nanny service which they DID NOT use so there is no excuse this is NEGLECT!

I am very sorry something happened to their daughter and for that they have my condolences but if they had taken a nanny service or took shifts with one staying with the children this would NOT have happened.

  26. Neglect and far more...
