The FC Twente boss expressed disappointment over his side’s 3-0 defeat against d**k Advocaat’s men, but open heartedly admitted that they deserved to bag all three points at the end.
FC Twente Enschede head coach, Steve McClaren, has expressed utter disappointment over his side’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven at Philips Stadion on Sunday, December 9.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 boss was not afraid to speak up his heart, and admitted that the Eindhoven giants staged an impressive show throughout the 90 minutes to deservingly claim all three points.
“Credit to PSV. I think they have pulled off a wholly deserved victory. It was a ‘must-win game’ for PSV and they succeeded under pressure”, McClaren said while talking to reporters in the post-match press conference.
The English trainer went on to insist that his side never really pushed for the win, while the Boeren expressed their intent of bagging all three points right from the first whistle.
“Tactics play a big role in football, but it’s more important to display a good attitude. For PSV, this was a make or break game, whereas we pretended it was just an ordinary game and we paid dearly for our attitude”, McClaren added.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Georginio-Wijnaldum-c14629 added his name to the score-sheet.
The Tukkers first real goalscoring opportunity came early in the second-half, but Dusan Tadic’s effort sailed over the crossbar, and the chance went begging.
Meanwhile, the Boeren continued to wrap up the game, but failed to do so until the 80th minute when Tim Matavz doubled his side’s advantage. Two minutes later, it was all over for the Tukkers, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luciano-c22574 Narsingh’s strike made it 3-0 for PSV.
McClaren revealed that he took a risk by fielding three players that were not fully match fit.
“In games like this, only fully-fit players should take to the field. Three to four players were not quite match-fit, which is ´not done´ at this level”, the Englishman concluded.
