The 51-year-old has heaped praise on his side’s impressive response following the 3-0 defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281 last weekend, but has admitted that his troops could have sealed the win a bit earlier.

The Tukkers were heading into the game on the back of a demoralising 3-0 defeat at the hands of PSV Eindhoven on December 9, and the English trainer admitted that they were under severe pressure to bag all three points.
“It was an important game for us, and everyone was under pressure. After the defeat against PSV last week, we had to head out a response. I am pleased with the win, and everyone’s performance”, McClaren was quoted as saying to journalists in the post-match press conference.
Several of the Tukkers’ fans were surprised to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 boss explained his decision of opting to start with the former Ajax striker.
“We started the game with a direct approach, and needed a powerful striker upfront. That’s why I chose Dmitri”, McClaren added.
The Tukkers commenced proceedings at home brightly, but the Heraclieden managed to grab the lead against the run of play in the 20th minute when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marko-Vejinovic-c24231’s curling free-kick found the back of the net.
However, the home side restored parity only six minutes later through Nacer Chadli. Both sides failed to add any more goals in the remaining action of the first-half.
After the break, the Tukkers continued to impress on the pitch, and managed to take the lead in the 62nd minute through Edwin Gyasi.
Thomas Bruns, however, levelled the score-line only two minutes later by tapping in Geoffrey Castillion's low cross.
Castaignos added his name to the score-sheet in the 70th minute to make the score-line 3-2, which remained unchanged until the full time whistle.
McClaren admitted that his side could have put the match to bed a bit earlier, but they kept the game very exciting until the last moment.
“We kept the game open too long. The last ten minutes were extremely intense. However, our aggressive intent coupled with our dominant play at the centre of the park was the key in our win”, McClaren concluded.
FC Twente will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar in their next league encounter on December 21.
