The 23-year-old attacker has insisted that he wants to replicate his last term’s performance in a bid to help Sunderland move away from the relegation zone.
Sunderland winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/James-McClean-c17703, has expressed confidence that he will recapture his lost form at the earliest to help his side claim good results and finish at a respectable place on the English Premier League table.
The 23-year-old, who arrived at Stadium of Light in the summer of 2011 after making well over 50 appearances for Derry City during his three years stay at Brandywell Stadium, has been struggling to put in consistent performances for the Black Cats since
the start of the ongoing 2012/13 campaign.
With only two assists and one goal to his name thus far in 16 league appearances, the talented attacker has failed to make an impact on the pitch and help his side in claiming good results this term.
However, after netting his first goal of the season in the 3-0 win over Reading on December 11, the Irish international has expressed confidence that he will be able to recapture his impressive form in the coming weeks.
“I can turn it around and get back to where I was. I want to top last season’s performance. A lot of attention comes my way on the pitch compared to when I first broke through and no-one had heard of me. I could play with a bit more freedom then but now
they know what to expect from me”
“It’s down to me to get back to the levels I was at last season and maybe I can do that with the help around me but it’s mainly down to myself”, McClean was quoted as saying to the media.
The 23-year-old failed to make a single appearance for the Black Cats until December after his arrival at Stadium of Light in the summer of 2011. However, his impressive showings afterwards, netting five goals while setting up a couple more, played an important
part in Sunderland’s 13th place finish last term.
McClean has now expressed keenness to replicate his last season’s performance to help his side finish as far away from the relegation zone as possible.
