McCoy Premier League: Darts sets stage at Westpoint once again
The best of darts are once again in Westpoint to carry on with their series of encounters at the McCoy Premier League.
The elite of darts include Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, Raymond van Barneveld and the reigning Premier League Champion Gary Anderson.
Also festooning the line-up of the squad, are debutants Kevin Painter, Andy Hamilton and the Aussie ace Simon Whitlock.
The event switches in terms of venue between locations assigned in England and Ireland.
With a total purse of £150,000, the event has so far created some new examples of entertainment in the game of darts. However, at some places, results have been quite traditional also.
The 15-time champion and The Power of darts, Phil Taylor, continued to rule the oche with his spellbinding performances against current darts champion Adrian Lewis, Kevin Painter and Simon Whitlock.
His first game against Lewis was turning out to an upset until Taylor bounced back, from 7-1 to level scores in the end with 7-7 on the board.
The latter two came as easy wins for him. In addition to this, Lewis’ performance so far has not been as positive and commendable as to what was expected.
After drawing his first game against Taylor, the Jackpot is still looking for a breakthrough that he can actually be proud of in the event.
His upcoming encounter against Anderson is being termed as one of the most exciting and exhilaration filled encounters of the League.
Flying Scotsman or Gary Anderson is also in good form. He was able to score some good points in his matches to end up at the second position in the points table after Taylor.
Once done with the top tier, other players like Kevin Painter, Andy Hamilton and Raymond van Barneveld are still struggling to make their mark in the event.
Hamilton and Barney are still eyeing to open their account of victory in a major darts event. It is also important to mention James Wade here, who is also confronted with similar problems.
Unable to find a bleak hope, these players are being eyed by their opponents to surge their position on the points table.
