There's been talk that if Kolkata Knight Riders make it to the semi-finals..they are offering NZ cricket 1 million US dollars to allow McCullum to play in the IPL semi-finals (if KKR get to the semi-finals).

The IPL semi-finals are held in the middle of the second and third tests that NZ play against England.

Captain Daniel Vettori says he is okay with the proposed move

Should NZ cricket take the money? What are your thaughts?

  1. I THINK NO BECAUSE IT IS BETTER TO PLAY FOR COUNTRY NOT FOR MONEY

  2. new zealand cricket board not allow him to take this money and play in ipl semi final,if new zealand cricket team schedule missmatch.

  3. NZ should grab da money and run.

  4. Players should play for their country and not for money

IPL is now disturbing the wrold cricket Soon it will be all about money

  5. we heard that. NZ knows whether they need the money over the need of McCullum in the team.

  6. Hmmm they wont make it to the semifinals no need to waste that money give it to me KKR i will lead my life happy saying ur name!LOL

  7. i guess no. even he would prefer to play for country first

  8. Good Question (you do ask a lot of good questions btw)

There shouldn't really be a problem with McCullum going away inbetween test matches, as long as he gets back in time for the test matches then the NZ cricket board should have no problem with it!!. As long as McCullum's fitness is no hampered by the move then i think McCullum should go for it.

NZ cricket could do definitely do with a million dollars too!! they are one of the poorer cricket boards around

  9. I can't add much to what KooKee says, it would definately be a help to the Kiwis to get that financial boost.

  10. no

  11. well firstly its a MASSIVE risk for NZ to take in the middle of the test series, if he gets injured over there and has to miss the rest of the series it would be a huge blow to NZs chances of winning the series (tho Kookee would say they have no chance anyway! LOL) as he is such an important player for them.

however, if cricket new zealand are willing to take the chance and its between tests and McCullum is willing then sure i see no problem with him going back as a million USD would be a huge boost to cricket in NZ, but i dont think NZ will risk it, hes too important to their side

  12. YES NZ cricket need the money, if they keep palyers away thwey will just retire from NZ and go full time.
