McCullum hopes for Jesse Ryder’s return to international cricket – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JD-Ryder-c1679 is not available for the upcoming tour of South Africa but hopes that the left-handed batsman will make himself available for international cricket in near future.
The 28-year-old cricketer was dropped from the national team in February this year, having violated the team discipline by using alcohol. Later on, the stylish left-hander made himself unavailable for international selection and took an indefinite break from the highest stage of the game.
Ryder however, has shown great form in the on-going first-class season in the country, being one of the leading run-scorers with 530 runs in just four matches at an average of more than a hundred runs per innings, including three centuries and a fifty.
Before leaving for the all-important series in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757, the Black Caps’ newly appointed skipper said that he is delighted to see the left-handed batsman score so many runs in domestic cricket, hoping for the Wellington-cricketer to return to the international sport soon.
He said, “I've been in touch with Jesse. He's going really well. I was really pleased he again scored a lot of runs in this game. He's doing great at the moment and I'm sure he'll be back in the not too distant future. It's about Jesse getting out of first-class cricket in the next months [is] what he needs, and that's the most important thing.”
Ryder has so far represented http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in 18 Tests, 39 One Day Internationals and 20 T20s, having scored more than 2700 runs at the highest stage of the game, with the help of five hundreds. The highlight of the left-handed batsman’s career remains a superb double century against India in 2009.
McCullum was all praise for Ryder’s abilities as an international player but expects him to solve his issues in future.
“Jesse is a world-class player and we've seen that already in his time in international cricket, but the circumstances are that Jesse is unavailable at the moment and that's unfortunate,” the Kiwi skipper added.
The hard-hitting left-hander represented the Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in the fifth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
