The Reading boss has made it clear that his side would be luring new players to Madejski Stadium in the upcoming winter transfer window to compete successfully for Premier League survival.
Reading head coach, Brian McDermott, has revealed that his side would be bringing in new faces to Madejski Stadium in the upcoming January transfer window.
The Royals have thus far struggled to compete in the highest echelons of English football. Occupying the 19th spot on the Premier League table, they have failed to claim good results consistently.
With the club looking to be fighting for the English top flight survival at the end of the ongoing season, reports surfaced in the English media that the Royals management would be signing new players in the January transfer window to enhance their chances
of prolonging their stay in Premier League.
And the 51-year-old tactician has confirmed that his side would be luring a couple of new faces to Madejski Stadium in the upcoming winter transfer market.
“We are talking at the moment regarding players. If we could bring in two or three players that could make a difference, it would be useful to the squad. We don’t generally deal in big prices. We try to get players that are available. I’d like to bring in
two or three with a little bit of experience at the level”, McDermott was quoted as saying to the club’s official website.
The Royals were recently linked with Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrei-Arshavin-c5771, who has failed to cement his place in the Gunners line-up this term despite remaining a regular at Emirates Stadium for the past couple of seasons.
In addition, the newly promoted Premier League outfit has also been linked with a couple of Dutch players as well, who are plying their trade in Eredivisie.
And the former Slough Town boss has admitted that his side could even sign players from other leagues as well.
“Having said that, if we can bring in someone from somewhere who we think has potential and can play for us, then fine and that’s what we have done with the group now”, McDermott concluded.
