McDermott open to a return to the Australian set-up – Cricket News Update
As he prepares to help Ireland beat his former team, former Australian bowling coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Craig-John-McDermott-c51704 has said that he is open to working with Cricket Australia in the future, provided an opportunity arises.
The 47-year-old was instrumental in helping the Aussies get back to winning ways after a period of high-profile disappointments, including failure to claim the urn and defend their World Cup crown.
Replacing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 ended the season without getting beaten
in a full series.
The bowling performances also stood out, with the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Iftikhar-Ali-Khan-Pataudi-Nawab-of-c64075 Cummins,

In the meanwhile, McDermott continued to work at the Centre of Excellence in Brisbane, along with his assignments with the U-19 team before deciding to become Ireland’s bowling coach for a short period. Having sorted out his own personal issues, the 47-year-old
is not ruling out a reunion with the Aussie fast bowlers in the future.
"I said when I stepped down that I had some things I wanted to deal with personally, and I went away and did that," McDermott said. "While I was doing that I worked at the CoE and worked with the AIS intake this year, and also with the Under 19s leading
into the World Cup. That came to an end, then I had a couple of weeks off and the opportunity came up to work with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 here.
"I'm keeping my options open, if something becomes available with CA that's fine, I look forward to that. I'm open to anything, I wanted some flexibility at the time, and that's just the way I decided to go."
Ireland and Australia meet in the first round of the World T20 on September 19.
