McDonald's.....I had a bug in my iced coffee....eeeeeeeeewwww?

Question

The sad part is I didn't see it until all the coffee was gone and I had just a bit of ice at the bottom of the cup. I emailed them but I'm not holding my breath. Has this ever happened to any of you?

McDonalds sucks big time.. I would never recommend it to anyone.. it hadn't happened to me... but I worked there so I KNOW how bad it is.. never eat their food..

It's not that weird really, there's a lot of bugs in the world. You can hardly blame the restaurant for an accident like this. Could have gone in AFTER it was handed to you.

I wouldn't worry too much about it, I doubt it's going to effect your health. Probably surprising to find it though :P

Ewwww....  That is seriously DISGUSTING.  First go brush your teeth and gargle to get that out of your taste.  Did it taste any different??-- just wondering.   And no that has never happened to me or anyone else I know.  You should go to them again and tell them what happened.  If you saved the bug then show it to them-- you don't have to...  then be like ' I really think that i deserve to get my money back for this, maybe a little more to get me not to say anything to anyone about it...'

no, but you should sew them, who knows what other junk ppl can find in there..I think I've heard someone found bones or something in their mcdonalds meal b4..I suggest not eating there.  My sister found hair in her hot lunch at school in elementary school or junior high..I don't remember.  Bottom line, the people who serve food should take better care of their products!! Email is too passive to be effective.  You should have taken the cup straight back to the location that sold it to you.  Ask to speak to the manager, show him what you found, and tell him that you are extremely upset and disappointed, and want to know how he plans to make this right.

At the very least, he should apologize on behalf of his workers, and promise to investigate how it happened.  With any luck, he will try to soothe you with a free drink or even a gift card.

this has happened to me but not at mcdonalds . i have stopped eating at mcdonalds bacause well they are pretty disgusting. you could go in and talk to the manager but they probably would just give you some free food and maybe a refund . this is something that would probably not make a huge case because its so common and sadly likely .. you might want to read a book called CHEW ON THIS , i did and this is one of the reasons i don't eat much fast food .  stop eating from mcdonalds if you can if you knew how they prepare food it's disgusting . the burgers are made in less than a minute and the drinks are like syrup and they make it into a soda. it really is disgusting and listed in the book .

It happened to me with a pie. I was eating it and half way through there was a huge blow fly in it. I called the Health Inspector at the local council, he came and took a statement off me and the packaging that it had come in (which apparently wasnt up to standards) and then he did an inspection of the pie place. I wouldnt email them I would go down and see the manager or call the manager.

Ask them for five free cups of iced coffee and state in writing that you will forget the ordeal if you get the free coupons(they have free coupons for everything).  Say you told four friends about the bug and want to prove to them and yourself it's just a rare occurance and probably won't happen again any time soon.  Compliment them on their product while you're asking for the freebee.  Let's face it, McDonald's has good coffee and I love it, although much of their food is arterie hardening.

Bugs happen, everyone at home has eaten a bug or two over the years that has sneaked into their food.

You could appeal to them as that is completely unhealthy and bugs carries diseases. Food establishments (especially big ones) are usually expected to be clean.
