Question:

McDonald's Shift Manger?

I am 19 and right now I have two waitressing jobs. School will be starting soon, and I am planning on trading one of my waitressing jobs for a much slower paced McDonald's job in my town.

I am thinking about applying to be a shift manager, but I have questions on the qualifications.

I worked at Sears as a cashier for a year

I work at Frisch's Big Boy and I'm the Dining Room customer service leader.

I am in the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

I have one year of college experience under my belt and am now entering my second year.

I am student council president.

Is it possible to be hired as a shift manager with these qualifications? Or only part of the crew?

  1. McDonalds has its own qualifications for shift management. You have to attend a set of classes, first a swing class, and then BSM. They don't really hire straight into management though, but if your store manager is attentive, you can be sent of to class very fast. I'm a shift Manager for McDonalds, and I just got back from BSM. Greatest time of my life. I say go for it

  2. You're going to have to prove you can keep up with things and probably start out lower on the totem pole.  Don't worry, if you're good you can push things through and make it.  Everyone just usually gets into a rut and never goes for advancement.
