McDonald's customer service, who do I complain to and should I?

I've gone to this same McDonald's in the past couple months and have several complaints... one time a couple weeks ago it was in the mid 80's outside (I live in TX) and they had the heater on, we asked them about it and 20 mins later one of the workers was asked to turn the AC on. They make customers wait at least 5 mins (this is not during busy hrs) even though they have about 8 people working and only a few customers. They've gotten my order wrong more times than not... and when my parents asked for refills they had to wait while the worker finished her conversation with a co-worker... I didn't think too much of it... so today we went back again and I found a hair in my burger.... so after all that's happened I decided to write in and complain and started writing down the address of the owners... one of the workers noticed me and yelled loudly, "Oh my God, these people" all while she rolled her eyes at me, so now I feel a bit embarrassed writing a complaint... should I still do it?

  1. You should definitely talk to one of their managers first and then write the letter. But either way works, I hope. I know how frustrating this is. I've dealt with situations like this before, and I have zero tolerance on things like this. Talk to the manager face to face, and make him or her understand your frustration and how much this could cost their business and then write a letter to back it up.

  2. You should compalin , about anything thats wrong. If service is slow , ask for the team leader , or manager . If you are being treated disrespectfully, like the eye roll, or staff chatting and ignoring you, again , team leader or a  manager .

    If your order is wrong , hand it back, and ask it be corrected , if in fixing it your fries get cols , ask for it to be hot .  

    A hair in food should NEVER happen , its a health code violation if someones not using a hair net .

    Get the names of anyone you speak to, and write a letter to the manager of the franchise. You can also write to corporate hedquarters with complaints .

    IF that person had yelled that at me , she would be explaining to the store owner why she should keep her job, its shows an absolute contempt for the customer , and the customer is ultimately paying for all of it .

  3. Well,you deserve to file a complaint considering how horrible their service is.You could complain to the manger,he/she could straighten things out.

    But remember : if you complain in a nice way,it'll be worth your while.They'll consider your complaint,and even make it up to you in some way(I could give a example,but thats another story).

    BTW,I suggest you don't eat at mcdonald's anymore....I find their food just disgusting.

    Dont tell me I served in Iraq for somones freedom to complain about the service. For heavens sake eat around the Hair! I ate stuff way worse than McDonalds. Try an MRE!

    Now there are FDA rules and McDonald stardards of running a business. You must also know that there is somthing called the chain of command. First start with the employee. Now yes you probally wont get anywhere because they are just teenagers trying too make it out there in this peace of c**p economy. If your not satisfied with that go to the shifmanager,  then store manager then last thing you do is use the 1800 number at McDonalds website or also leave a email comment.

  5. First of all you have no business telling them what the temperature should be. For all you know someone told them they were cold. Or perhaps the AC was broken. These are things they can't fix. If it bothers you I'm sure you can find another McDonalds. Bottom line these people get paid next to nothing. You always have to remember that.

Do not feel embarrassed about writing a complaint.  The owners/operators would be very interested in your opinion.  First of all, call the McDonald's, and ask for the number to their regional office. After they give it to you, then tell the store manager the reason for the call.  He/She should then take steps to take care of the situation.  Make sure to describe the rude employee and what day it happened on..Believe me, they will recognize a physical description.  There is no excuse for that kind of behavior to a customer ever.  The heating/ac thing is probably only something the store manager is allowed to deal with and not the regular crew as the heating/cooling systems are complicated.  As for your parents asking for refills, they should have interrupted the conversing co-workers to remind them that they were waiting and that they weren't getting paid to talk but to offer outstanding customer service.  And above all, do not be afraid to get the manager up there. If you have a complaint, call the manager up there..that is what they are paid for is to ensure that you have a great dining experience.

    If you feel that the management can't or didn't resolve your issues, then you contact the regional office and they definitely will take steps to improve things.

I also live in TX and my husband and I were complaining just this morning how the service at McD's has drastically declined.  We are not talking about one main McD's but several.  We dont eat at McD's often, but it seems like when we do eat there they are either really slow or the employees have a "I dont care" attitude.  Recently on a trip to another town in TX we stopped in a small town for lunch.  The service was sooo terrible that one of the ladies who was waiting for food demanded the store number as she was leaving the McD's.  I suppose you could call anonomously and make a complaint.

  9. almost all restaurants like that have numbers to call on the sales receipts, or at a minimum tell you which "store number" it is.

    I would not talk to the store manager. They don't give a **** and would be embarrassed but will only try to patronize and apologize just enough to get you out as soon as possible so you don't make a scene or make them look bad in front of their underlings.  But in reality, they won't do anything.  You have to write the owners.  Also, don't leave any comments on their stupid "comment cards" unless you mail them directly to the headquarters or owner.  If it's just a drop box, chances are no one important will read it.

  10. Yes, you should complain. First try talking to the manager. If that leads nowhere, find out who the owner of that particular chain is. If you still get nowhere, go on line to McDonald's website and write to the corporate offices.

  11. Why fool with the manager when you can go straight to the owner.  I would have done the same thing, you've done nothing wrong.  The employees are wrong.

  12. If talking to the manager does not get you satisfaction you should call the main corporate office in Oakbrook Illinois.

    They have an 800 number and you can get it from any of the hot or cold cups or by asking a manager.

    You might want to go to a different mcdonald's from now on.

    If this were my crew they would be terminated.

  13. you could complain to the manager but they are there and im sure know whats going on...they hired them F*cks! I wouldnt hesitate at all to complain...let them know everything you mentioned and prolly get free food from them, lol...i did that once or twice cuz mine is very similar to yours....they suck! but the next time i went back it was about all new people and then not long after that it was under new management, lol....they said i wasnt the only one to complain so im sure if they hear it enough they will make some changes
