McDonalds or JCPenny?

Question

I just got offered a job in JCPenny for $8.00/hr. I have a fried that works in a McDonalds and says he got me a job there. I am eighteen and live in Chicago, Illinois? How much does McDonalds pay? And what is the more interesting job?

Do not take McDonald's over JcPenny. JcPenny is a very good place to work! Take that job. You will hate working at McDonald's! Trust me, JcPenny is way better.

McDonalds doesn't pay much maybe a lil over minimum wage but its easier to get promoted there

but i would rather take JCPenny u start off at a higher pay and ur actually interacting with different customers and u dont' get to wear a uniform

I'm pretty  sure you get paid minimum wage at McDonald's. I live in NYC so i don't know how much minimum wage is in Chicago. take the job at JCpenny's. I'd be much prouder to say i work at JCpenny's rather than McDonald's. Plus, with JCpenny's you get clothing discounts!

mcdonalds pays like 6.dollars and somthing cents. you cant live off of that..plus mcdonalds isnt a place you would want  to work. jcpennys is way better.-no fry cooking, cleaning bathrooms, moping floors, cleaning tables.

Work at JCP.  You can get discounts on their merchandise.  Plus you won't go home smelling like grease.

At JCP, you can get promoted ( likewise at MD) but you also can get a percentage off of whatever you buy at JCP *clothes, shoes, kitchen ware, bedding, etc* and its a good work experience. MD is more like if you're needing a job and theres no where else to go. No offense to MD workers. You'd have to be pretty committed to make it at MD. JCP gives you the opportunity to grow plus you could transfer to different JCP branches throughout the state or the U.S.

mcdonaltds, dependin where u are, will start you out at least 7.25 (here) but they also start 7.50 at jcpenny here. so sounds like you live in a bigger place. so mcdonalds might pay you more.

here are your options. retail vs fastfood. i work in retail now. before i worked in fast food. out of the two, i would most definately pick fast food. but make sure you can handle stress. they wanted me manager for the second time and put alot of things for me to do, and i got really stressed out, and i had to get on anxiety medicine, and it was also because i hated the ppl i worked with.

but fast food is easier, yes you will get rude customers, but you will be working with a friend and that is always a plus.

and for retail. you have to clean out dressing rooms, you have to straighten alot up, and when you do inventory, omg! it is rediculous. you have to scan every little tiny peice of clothing, and everything single thing. and there is always something to do, cleaning up and rearranging things, i dont like it. its too boring for me. i dont want to clean up after ppl, who throw stuff on the dressing room floor. im no janitor, but i still have to do it. it sucks.

i would say mcdonalds.

EDIT!  I READ PPL SAY THAT MCDONALDS IS MINIMUM RAGE...HECK NO! JUST STARTING OUT HERE IS 7.25 AND I SEEN OTHERS START YOU OUT AT 8.50. AND THAT IS DEFINATELY NOT MINUMUM WAGE. PLUS MCDONALDS IS BETTER WORK EXPERIENCE.

Depends on whether you want to surround yourself with angry fat  hungry folks or hot chicks shopping for bathing suits..  wanna work in a hot greasy enviorment or air conditioned clean atmosphere?
