McDonnell Douglas MD-11?

hi, im making a simpit replicating the md11 and was wondering if i could buy real parts from scraped md11's. how would i go about finding out where to buy them

  1. dont try to build your own MD11 with used parts :P


  2. here in so. california there are dozens of "aircraft salvage" companies. now, here's the problem most only sell" flight certified" equipment.. can be very costly. if you tell them it is for a simulator they may be able to direct you to a cheaper vendor or source... hope this helps...(try online yellow pages, los angeles.aircraft salvage or used parts)

  3. One can get it from ebay I got a 747-100 oil pressure gauge from ebay.

  4. That all depends on which parts you are looking for.

    American Airlines has a salvage store in Tulsa Ok where they sell things like linen, china, silverware, seatcovers, rugs, galley carts, etc.

    But if you are looking for larger mechanic parts, no go.  I dont know anywhere you can get non-airworthy parts and you cant afford airworthy.
