The thirty one year old and US Open winner McDowell said that not only he but many other players wanted the European Tour event to be held in that particular area. Clarke seemed to be backing this idea as well.
The forty three year old Darren Clarke said that he would try his level best for the event to be held in North Ireland. It is to be noticed that the decision of organizing the Irish Open gold event will be taken in the summer of 2011, but the Irish golfing
ace duo Graeme and Clarke are hopeful that the event of 2012 will happen at their desired venue.
In the interview McDowell added that Northern Ireland is a perfect place for golfing events and the sponsors will get the best from it. He added that it would benefit sponsors as well as the players of Ireland. The Irish added that he would definitely take
part in the event and other golfing champs such as Rory McIlroy would also accompany him.
Golf has created a lot of attraction for the mass public in recent years. Players like Graeme McDowell have given a lot of publicity to golf as well, and according to McDowell, it is important to introduce golf at a higher level in Ireland, and that event
organizers should stage golfing events in different areas of Ireland.
McDowell expressed his thoughts about the matter and said that golfing events should be held in northern and southern Ireland equally because it would help promote golf at a bigger level and it would also help new players practice their golfing skills to
the fullest. He told the media that there are many talented young players in Ireland and golfing events would help them sharpen their skills and techniques. Later McDowell said that he is very hopeful and confident that in the near future, golfing events would
take place in Northern Ireland.
According to the Ryder Cup star the Portrush golf club would be an ideal place for the Irish Open golf event. While talking about the matter McDowell expressed his desire and told the world that it is his dream to play in a big golf event at Portrush.
On the other hand, another Irish ace golfer Darren Clarke backed McDowell and expressed himself by saying that Portrush is probably the most ideal venue for the Irish Open. Clarke said that Portrush has got everything and it is the perfect place for a big
golfing event. He said that the golf course of Portrush is one of the best golf courses in the world and it would be a dream come true for him if a European golf event is held there.
He added that organizing an event is no less a challenge but he is quite sure that the organizers at Portrush would make effective changes. He continued by saying that he is very well aware of the bad economic conditions but there is still a lot of time
to find a good sponsor for the event.
The suggestions for the Irish Open golf event by McDowell and Clarke cannot be ignored as it will promote golf in Ireland and will help new emerging players to learn the tips and tricks of the golfing world. Whether the dreams of the golfing duo will come
