So they're in the NASCAR hauler for what happened. Who do you think is more at fault for this, and what consequences (if any) do you think should be dished out?

Definite hard hit for those guys. Hope LaBonte is ok.

  1. McDowell was clearly at fault. He ran Gilliland into the fence.

  2. It was obviously McDowell's fault but I don't think it was on purpose. I don't think there will be any consequences just a lecture I'm sure. But ya hope Labonte is doing alright

  3. Both drivers are at fault.

  4. no consequences it's Michael Mcdowell's fault

  5. Man that was a bad crash, right now I just hope Bobby Labonte is Okay, I heard they took him to the hospital, probably for some Xrays. This looked like it was McDowells fault, think he needs to learn how to drive, maybe he needs to drive Nationwide for the rest of the yr. That wiped out a lot of great cars. Glad Papis is fine also, he is such a great guy, and so cool. Congrats to Rowdy, to bad Smoke just didn;t have anything for him, But we all were cheering for Marcos here at the end. Woods Brothers, put Marcos in the #21 please, he will do Little Debbie proud.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  6. Definatly McDowell he chose the wrong time to get payback and other drivers suffered major hope labonte didn't break anything, so he can get back in the car next week. I think waltrip made a bad choice putting mcdowell in the car he hass wrecked most of his cars

  7. McDowell.   He needs at the minimum a suspension for a few races, 2 or 4 minimum.    He has proven to me that he is not ready to be on a Sprint cup track.  And there are several drivers that have proven to be more worthy......not that he's great, but JJ Yelley comes to mind right off the bat for me.

  8. mcdowell,if you see closely the pushing had ended then out of no where, mcdowell ran , gillialand into the tires,

  9. I am a Yates racing fan, so that makes me a Gilliland fan as well...

    ... that being said...

How in the h**l is this his fault AT ALL?

Maybe they were beatin and banging earlier that lap but Mcdowell CLEARLY turns left into the 38.

I mean, don't take revenge on the track, and if you are going to.... do it in turn 1 where both of you can fly off the track and get stuck in gravel together... but dont do it at the entrance of pit road and cause a bottle-neck wreck that luckily *pending bad news on Labonte* didn't involve a serious injury. David Gilliland took some SERIOUS hits though.

McDowell should learn how to qualify on a track BY HIMSELF before he gets on a track... let alone the Glen.

  10. i think it is stupid to try and use your car to settle a fight... be a man and use your fist... if you have a problem confront the person after the race... but michael mcdowell being a rookie doesn't have his emotions under control... it was a rookie mistake, and michael is the most at fault

  11. McDowell and Gilliland had been bumping and grinding before the wreck.  McDowell bumped the rear or Gilliland which started things.  Impossible to tell whether Gilliland slowed down and McDowell innocently hit him or if McDowell was trying to bump him for position.  Either way McDowell was loose from the bump when he knocked Gilliland into the wall.  It wasn't intentional or retaliation.  Since Texas qualifying he's raced pretty clean.  He's done quite well for having only one year of stock car experience in ARCA.  Hopefully Labonte will be fine.  He got out of the car walked away so I imagine the hospital trip is just precautionary.

  12. i hope the park #00 cause he done nothing but get in the way or cause wrecks this year member his very 1st time in the cup car at texas what happen

  13. I really think it was just racing. Unfortunately, a lot of drivers got caught up in the mess. It was a bad place to happen, and I feel bad for everyone involved.

If NASCAR takes action against these drivers, then they need to pull Jeff Gordon and PJ Jones (96) in also, they were pushing and shoving a few laps earlier.

Bobby is tough, he will be fine.

  14. I dont think it was on purpose. I think that McDowell caused it by going into Gilliland but I dont think it was on purpose.

Definately hoping and praying for Bobby to be ok.

  15. By the looks of the replay it looks as if #00 is at fault to me, ESPN said the trouble started on the back stretch so if BOTH are being called NASCAR sees equally involved. They'll probably get a stern talking to but I don't see any penalities. Praying for the #43.
