because he respected him too much. However shouldnt he have been banned for a period because of his tantrums or did the LTA bottle it because it was considered good entertainment and he was a crowd puller?

  1. Well if they had hawk-eye back then then none these tantrums would have been cut down. I must say he was a bit over the top and I am suprised how much he got away with it.

I don't think he said anything really awful which is good so yeah I suppose he is a bit of a legend. But many will remember or know him for these out bursts and lines like 'You cannot be serious!' rather than for being a quality tennis player.

  2. what decade have you woke from?

  3. For me, McEnroe's tantrums on the court makes tennis more interesting. I don't have any idea if he tried his antics on Borg, though. I like other players because of their tantrums too. Marat Safin broke all his rackets one time that he could not continue to play his match--that's an extreme one. How about Youzhny hitting his head with a racket--blood oozed and he became a celebrity in youtube? Hewitt's four letter words... are becoming a rarity nowadays.

    And that's ENTERTAINMENT!
