He's well respected by the players and they said that he had a big part to play in their victories in 2006 and 2008. Since he knows the players, he knows how to get the best out of them. He also knows the set up and what's required to be a successful coach.

I'm happy to be honest because it puts to bed those terrible rumours of Eddie O' Sullivan or Michael Bradley taking charge.
