McLaren-Mercedes driver Jenson Button says he is happy with his team – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he does not want to talk about his future yet, as he is happy and satisfied with his current team.
Button also said that he is enjoying his time with McLaren. However, he is not ready to talk about his future in Formula 1 sport at the moment, because he just wants to focus on his current job.
The Brit was moving in the right direction before the recently held European Grand Prix. He could not finish his race on the podium in Valencia following his very strong performance in the Canadian race weekend, where he won the race ahead of defending champion,
Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel.
Button was a minute slower than the race winner Vettel at the Valencia Street Circuit. He finished his race on the sixth spot for the team. His race result was not impressive for McLaren, as they were expecting another race victory from him over there after
the Canadian Grand Prix.
Despite his disappointing race in Europe recently, Button added that he is happy with his current team and enjoying his working with them.
He added, “I don't want to think about the future because I'm still enjoying the present. I really enjoy working with McLaren.”
Apart from that, the 2009 world champion showed his interest towards the team Ferrari. He said that he would like to drive with Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso in near future, as he said he was a very good and strong driver in Formula 1 sport.
The 31-year-old driver went on mention, “Ayrton Senna. Fernando Alonso too - although I don't think that'll ever happen. I've never spoken to Ferrari about a drive. I'd love to race in something after Formula 1 - maybe DTM or Aussie V8s? And I'll definitely
do some driver management, because I think I'd have a lot to offer.”
Button admitted that McLaren have perfect car this year and he is satisfied with its running in the 2011 Formula 1 season.
After a disappointing race in Valencia, the team is planning to deliver some new upgrades to their car for the upcoming British Grand Prix that will be held on July 10, 2011.
