McLaren Teammates Ready To Give A Head To Head Race

The Formula One’s platter is once again sizzling hot. The Formula One fans are ready to be served with all the sugar and spice as the cars parade towards the Silverstone circuit. With the current situation of the F1 Championship full of drama and suspense followed by thrill and excitement and with half of the season gone and so many teams as well as drivers in such great form and above all so much technical advancement taking place with the cars the situation is becoming nail biting with every passing race.

The British Grand Prix, to be held this weekend is going to be another nerve tingling spectacle. A lot of theatrical race performances are expected as the contest is getting ignited after every race. One of the toughest battles on the track is expected to take place between the two McLaren drivers, Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton. The fact that both the drivers would be racing at their homeland, England and share equal popularity in there, serves as an additional cherry to the cake. The tie is going to be tough. The arena is already burning with the expected heat of the head to head competition.

Both the drivers at the moment stand with two victories tagged to their names in the current season. Hamilton had been able to win the Turkish Grand Prix and later the Canadian Grand Prix last month whereas Button was able to bag victory at the Australian Grand Prix, the second race of the season as well as the Chinese Grand Prix. Also he was able to finish at second place twice this year in Turkey and Canada both the times chasing his teammate. Coincidently, Hamilton had also been able to finish twice at second place on the podium, once in the Chinese Grand Prix following his teammate’s tail and second time in the last Grand Prix held in Valencia, Spain.

At the present they stand dramatically separated with only six points at the Drivers’ Standing as Hamilton tops the charts whereas the other Englishman stands at second place. Hamilton has a total of one hundred and twenty seven points and Button follows with one hundred and twenty one points.

The McLaren teams is leading the Constructors’ Standings with a total of two hundred and forty eight points whereas the Red Bull that was leading the charts previously now stand at the second place with thirty points short of the toppers.

The McLaren car to be used in the British Grand Prix is also expected to be one of the best cars of the race as the team did not introduce their upgraded car in the previous race where most of the teams brought theirs. Well, if with the old version, the McLaren were able to finish at second and third place, one can expect to see a tremendous racing spectacle this weekend with their modified versions.

Currently, both the McLaren drivers exhibit great form and spirit and as they move to their home land the confidence as well as the pressure has increased. Hamilton seems very hopeful as the Silverstone circuit has proved lucky for him previously as well in the year 2008 he won here and was able to win the World Championship as well the same year.

Button, who at the present holds the World Championship title, is determined to retain it this year. Last year he was able to nail his victory deep and firm right from the start of the year as he was able to win the first two races of the year at in Australia and Malaysia and later he was crowned victory in four races consecutively at Bahrain, Spanish, Monaco and Turkish Grand Prix.

However, this year the situation is different, with half of the season already gone still one cannot predict a winner. Other teams such as Red Bull and Ferrari are also expected to give a tough competition. A couple of more days to go and action would unfold at the historic circuit of Silverstone this weekend.
