McLaren anticipates another great season

After having seen a very exciting and thrilling 2010 season, the expectations and anticipation for the next year have increased even further.
It is believed that the next grid will be the much more exhilarating then seen in years. With five world champions, a handful of legendary teams and some very promising young stars, Formula 1 is getting prepared to serve the most sizzling platter of action
and drama next year.
Among several other attractions for the next season, the best and the biggest one is to see the McLaren duo perform at the apex on the 2011 tracks. Two world champions, a legendary team and the return of the Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems, all together
is more than enough to keep the McLaren fans waiting to see fire on the 2011 track.
The 2008 world champion, Lewis Hamilton is ready to begin the battle next season right from where he left this year. Until the very last race of the season, the driver kept fighting really hard. However, despite a great racing show at the Abu Dhabi Grand
Prix, he was not able to claim the second title of his career. After finishing the race at second place, he was only able to end the season at forth position in the annual standing.
The 25-year-old stayed at the top of the tally for around half of the season. The consecutive wins of Hamilton, in Turkey and later in Canada, pushed the Red Bull driver Mark Webber, down to second place as the Briton topped the driver’s tally. The third
victory of the season came his way in Belgium, but he was not able to get back to the top of the podium again after that.
The retirement of the chocolate-skinned driver in Italy followed by a very similar DNF in Singapore gave a hard blow to the hopes of the British racer, and later the fifth place finish in Japan finally dimmed away his chances.
Although the determined young lad did not give up until the last race, but it was evident only a miracle would have been able to grant him the title. With the hope of such a miracle, the driver entered the last race, at the Yas Marina Circuit. However, a
second place finish was not able to take him anywhere above fourth place in the annual standing.
For his teammate, and the 2009 champion, Jenson Button, the season neither had been a great one nor was it a very poor one. Unlike last year, when he was able to bag six race wins out the first seven races with the Brawn GP team, this year he was not seen
winning more than two Grand Prix’s all through the season.
The season started nicely for the champion, granting him an early victory at the second round, the Australian Grand Prix. However, after the second victory in China, the British driver was mostly seen chasing his teammate, Hamilton. Finally, at the last
race of the season, he ended at third place on the podium behind Hamilton and wrapped up the championship at fifth place, being 26 points adrift his teammate.
Now as the team as well as the drivers prepare for the next season, the whole British squad is hopeful for seeing a great season ahead. Both the drivers are reluctant to enter the next season with a renewed force and energy, while the team’s factory is ready
to hand them the fastest car of the season.
The team’s KERS system is already known to be the best one, as proved on the 2009 grid and now the introduction of the adjustable front wing is further expected to aid their car, making the team one of the most threatening teams for the next calendar.
