McLaren driver Hamilton apologises to Maldonado, Massa for disrespectful comments – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has apologised to Pastor Maldonado and Felipe Massa for the comments he gave after the Monaco Grand Prix regarding the penalty he received for overtaking the two drivers.
Hamilton was looking pretty good during the practice sessions but failed to produce a good result during the qualifying session of the Monaco Grand Prix as a result of which his race was disturbed massively.
The 2008 Formula 1 champion finished in a disappointing 6th place but he believed that he could have done better if the stewards did not give him the 20-second penalty for his overtaking moves on Massa and Maldonado.
In this heat of moment, Hamilton criticised the two drivers and said, “These drivers are absolute frickin' ridiculous, it's stupid.”
Nevertheless, it seems that Lewis realised his mistake and apologised to both of the drivers as he updated his Twitter account with a recent Tweet regarding this matter.
“To Massa and Maldonado, with the greatest respect I apologize if I offended you. Both of you are fantastic drivers who I regard highly,” Hamilton’s Tweet read.
Ever since the conclusion of the Monaco Grand Prix, Hamilton has been apologising to virtually everyone. He also recently apologised to the race stewards for joking with them regarding the penalties he was receiving. Other than that, he apologised to his
fans as well via Twitter.
“Hey guys. I wanted to apologise for last weekend's performance and also my comments after, I never meant to offend no one,” said the 2008 Formula 1 world champion.
Hamilton spoke to the media about this matter as well and claimed that he did not intend to hurt anyone and he did it just because he loves racing and believed he could do much better than others.
He added that he is hoping to score some good results at the upcoming race which is scheduled to take place in Canada in two weeks’ time.
