McLaren driver Jenson Button aims to win every race ahead – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button is still determined to win the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship and is aiming to claim victories in all the remaining grands prix.
Button could not score even a single point in the Italian GP last weekend as unfortunately his fuel system failed during the race and he had to retire eventually.
Even though, he is now 78 point behind the current leader in the drivers’ championship, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari which has made it very difficult for him to bounce back in the title fight. Nevertheless, the British driver is not feeling upset and is optimistically
looking forward to score wins in all the races ahead so as to become this year’s champion.
“It's obviously even more difficult for the title now, but it doesn't change my view on the season” said Button. “Every race I go in for I want to win because the buzz when you do win, that adrenalin, sometimes is better than winning a World Championship.”
Furthermore, he said that they have made some impressive performance in the season until now for which he admired his team for all their efforts. In addition, he said that he is immensely grateful to his team which is competent enough of winning the championship.
“There are positives to a grand prix you don't have winning over a 20-race period, and I want that feeling back. We've had a great stretch and we've been the only team that has had a stretch like that,” he said. “It's great for the team and I'm very happy
to be a part of that.”
Besides, he said that they are making the significant preparations and are hoping to come up stronger in the season ahead. He also said that his main target is to win the Singapore GP which is going to be held at Marina Bay Street Circuit on September 23,
2012.
Presently, the 2009 world champion is standing at sixth position in the drivers’ rankings with 101 points. Additionally, he is ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and is behind Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing.
Let’s see how the season progresses for the Briton.
