McLaren driver Jenson Button feels very pleased with the team’s stance for the upcoming 2012 F1 season going to start this weekend at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia.
McLaren struggled during the last pre-season however, this year’s pre-season testing programme had proved out to be the most successful one for them and team drivers, Button and his teammate Lewis Hamilton are quite confident for the first Grand Prix at
Australia.
Button expressed his happiness after he reached Melbourne for the first race of the forthcoming season and said that they had the most reliable tests this year apart from the final day of the last test held at Circuit de Catalunya where the car faced some
problems with the hydraulics.
Nevertheless, he felt that they had made an impressive progress with the new car and there was nothing to be afraid of.
“Arriving in Melbourne I'm a lot happier than I was last year,” said Button. “We've had a good winter in terms of reliability most of the time, except for my final day when the car had a hydraulics issue. But I feel we have made good progress with the car,
and there's nothing I'm afraid of with its balance. It listens to changes which is really important.”
Furthermore, he said he was very delighted with the team’s course and what they had been able to achieve until now.
In addition, he believed that his personal and professional life was going incredibly well.
Besides, he said that he was surrounded by some great mechanics and engineers which gave him an amazing feeling with regards to his position in the team.
Moreover, he said that the team had worked incredibly hard for making the essential improvements and substantial preparations for the forthcoming season. He also said that he did not expect anything better than this where there is nothing left which could
be called as feeble while the team is amongst the top contenders for the season ahead.
“There's nothing I would look at and say 'that's an area where we are weak' or 'maybe that could be better'. It's all gone right at the moment,” he said.
