McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton disappointed with 2011 Monza Grand Prix show – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is disappointed with 2011 Italian Grand Prix, as he could not do a better race for his team at the Monza racetrack.
Hamilton added that he knows Mercedes GP driver Michael Schumacher was wrong during the fight with him at the Monza racetrack, but he just keeping his mouth shut, because he does not want to be involve in a war-of-words with his rivals.
Schumacher and Hamilton were engaged in a battle for a few laps in the 2011 Italian Grand Prix. The Brit wanted to overtake the seven-time world champion as he was faster as compared to him, but the German did not allow Hamilton to do that. After receiving
instructions from Ross Brawn through the team radio, Schumacher allowed Hamilton a space for overtaking him.
The 26-year-old driver discussed his Monza race and stated, “I think you [the media] are constantly asking me what lessons I have learned, and that is one lesson I was able to apply that day. Because I am very, very passionate, and very open, and very blunt
with the things I say. And because I am not scared to say what I feel, it can be used against me.”
After the close fight with Mercedes driver Schumacher, Hamilton ended his 2011 Italian race at the fourth position ahead of him.
Hamilton went on to mention, “I am generally quite clear. Now after Malaysia and I got a penalty, I am clear I am not allowed to try and break the tow. And I am also clear that under braking I can only make one manoeuvre and not go back, and I don't need
to ask any questions.”
On the other hand, the Petronas-sponsored team driver talked to the media and stated that he was not surprised with what he has done in the 2011 Italian Grand Prix. He added that it was good for him, as Brawn came on the radio and suggested him to leave
space for one car at a corner.
Let’s see how Hamilton performs in the last six rounds of the ongoing season following his fourth position in Italy.
