McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton is delighted by updates in MP4-27 – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton is feeling delighted by updates in MP4-27 for 2012 British Grand Prix which is to be held at Silverstone Circuit on July 8.
Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing came really strong in the European GP with the updates in RB8 as he claimed pole position and dominated in the race with a lead of 20 seconds. However, unfortunately his alternator stopped working which became the cause
of his retirement.
Although, Hamilton could not score even a single point in Valencia as he collided with Pastor Maldonado of Williams and came 19theven after setting off from second place in the grid. Nevertheless, he is aiming to perform well in the forthcoming
race and hopes to score reasonable points with the upgraded car.
“We definitely have some upgrades, so I'm really excited to see how it behaves on car and if they actually deliver what we think they're going to deliver,” Hamilton said. “But I don't know if it's as big as what [Red Bull] brought at last race, who knows.
I think our car generally goes a little better in high-speed circuits than it does at low-speed circuits, so fingers crossed it will be bit stronger this weekend.”
The 2008 world champion is presently standing at third place in the drivers’ championship with 88 points between the pair of Red Bull drivers, Vettel and Mark Webber.
Furthermore, he expressed that his target is to perform with consistency throughout the season and he will not changed his course of action. In addition, he said that he is not feeling disappointed after the last race as he is going to get many opportunities
in the races ahead to make his position stronger in this year’s championship.
“I haven't changed anything from beginning of season. Everything's still same and of course things don't always go to plan but that's life,” he said.
Additionally, it will be important to mention that he lost some crucial time during the pit stop in the preceding race because of an issue in equipment. Nonetheless, the Woking based team has resolved the problem and has planned to come up with a new jacking
system in the upcoming race to attain better results.
