McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton praises teammate Jenson Button – Formula 1 news
McLaren-Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that Jenson Button is a great teammate and a great driver in Formula 1 sport at the moment.
Hamilton also mentioned that Button showed a very decent performance in the recently held Hungarian Grand Prix and that he deserved the race victory, as he did a fantastic job during the Budapest race last weekend.
Apart from that, he discussed his race performance at the Hungaroring race circuit on Sunday, July 31, 2011. He stated that he was disappointed after the grand prix, as he could not finish his race on the podium at the one of his favourite tracks in Formula
1.
The Brit further mentioned that it is fact that the team’s MP4-26 car was very competitive throughout the Hungarian race weekend and that it was supportive for both of the drivers in the Budapest race.
Talking to the media, Hamilton said, “They've done an incredible job across the organisation. Off the back of two consecutive wins is a great way to go into the summer break; everyone is now having an important and well deserved rest and we'll be ready to
come back fighting in Belgium.”
He also discussed his 2011 summer break plans with the media. He added that he wants to spend some quality time with his family and friends during the August break. In addition, he mentioned that he will also train for the next Belgium Grand Prix of the
ongoing season.
He went on to add, “We're about to visit some really special venues: Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, Suzuka and Interlagos are some of the greatest tracks in the sport. You really feel their soul and their history. We're going to these tracks with three teams
battling with similar pace at the top.”
After finishing his race at the fourth place in the Budapest race, Hamilton is at the third position with 146 points in the 2011 Formula 1 drivers’ championship.
